I am currently flying around the world in the A2A B-17 in real time with no accelleration, and in real world weather. I am trying to land in at least one city in each province, territory, or state of every country.

 

I stay in the seat for the duration of the flight, with only bathroom breaks and to get refreshments . I average 3-5 hours at a time, sometimes longer when time permits.

 

If I am on longer legs like when I flew across the Pacific Ocean Island hopping to South America, I will save, and resume later.

Guess I am around a 4, although I don't always use real time weather for when I am flying, I will sometime use historical weather from AS2012 but it's real weather none the less, just from a different time period, never FSX weather though. I don't always fly the proper plane either. Since I got the NGX I will do a lot of American flights that really use the MD-80's, but I substitute with the NGX -800 and sometimes fly places where American doesn't really fly, I think of it as a charter :-) Don't always increase the sim rate, but typically do on flights longer than an hour since I dont fly on-line or belong to a VA, and don't derive any more enjoyment or satisfaction from letting a flight run for more than a couple hours on autopilot while I am either not there or doing something else.

Based on your criteria, 2 or 3, even though I carefully determine fuel loads and routes and follow FCOM and FCTM procedures.

 

Basically, I do not mimic real-world flights; instead, I operate them as if they are private flights. (I currently use real-world liveries only because my primary aircraft, the PMDG B747, is dated, and I want to wait for the release of the PMDG B747 V2 or B777 before pursuing a personal livery.)

 

I only fly short-haul flights, and manipulate time only for real-world constraints (e.g., so I can eat with my family).

I determine routes using SkyVector, with Real-World Flight Plan Database suggestions.

I rarely match airlines with routes properly, as Air China and United Airlines—whose liveries are two of my favorites painted by McPhat Studios—do not operate regular B747 short-haul European flights.

I always use real-world weather, but rarely align FSX time with actual time. Instead, I follow my personal route schedules.

I think I will add a flying by the book section too. Because although to my properties I posted originally I'm a 4.5-4.9 but I do not fly by the book. I just guess on fuel and I use the FMC to automate nearly everything (that's what it's there for right? ).

I carefully consider winds and follow the fuel calculation recommendations described in the PMDG B747 AOM when calculating fuel. Depending on the circumstances, taking full advantage of the autopilot and FMC could very well be "by the book".

If you're not a 5, I don't see why you would bother to fly airliners....

I see. I want to spend a few minutes practicing some landings or am otherwise just sopping up some extra time. So if I don't bother to start ActiveSky, skip the preflight, start up running on the runway, fake the de-rate, and don't bother to punch in a realistic flight plan then I'm not worthy.

LOL yeah, guess since I plan on using the 777-200LR as my personal BBJ, I must not be taking this game seriously enough :lol: Besides, there is no shortage of regulations in real lilfe flying, no desire to conform to more virtual ones ^_^

 

I actually do make my GA flying more 'realistic' since that what I am actually trained to fly. I have no ATP rating so I just muddle my way through the airliners and freighters. I get them where I want to go in and in one peice so this way of flying works good enough for me B) But whatever floats your boat and makes you happy in this hobby...more power too you!

Been simming for years and never touched the time acceleration button, in fact the first thing I do is delete that key mapping. Same with slew.

 

I am a #5. I enjoy flying real weather and real time. This past week was fun flying over the US with the massive snow storms. Nothing better than flying down to minimums in a blizzard. Winter flying is the best!

Real world weather is always fun! Love scanning wx radars before my flight ,and paying attention to them often. I will re-direct my flight if there are strong storms in the way, or a possible threat for one.

 

The thing is though, when I am doing a tour in Europe, Asia, Africa etc. It is always night time when its daytime in the U.S (When I fly). So sometimes, I will make it day, just to get a different perspective.

Yep, that's exactly how I do it as well.

Flying at night is beautiful. With ultimate terrain night lighting and dark skies and clouds lit with moonlight... I love it.

If you're not a 5, I don't see why you would bother to fly airliners....
