Next Prepar3d release inevitable?

Recommended Posts

I am having so much fun with it just as it is right now that I really don't bother waiting...

I'd rather find v2 to be something really worth the migration than some product rushed into the market not based on carefull design and implementation, with all options covering the upcoming evoltuions in hardware and OSs being taken into consideration, allowing for easily porting some older add-ons, etc...

I'd say, take you time, while I am busy with what P3D and some excellent add-ons already offer me :-)

Main Simulation Rig:

Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, 1 TB & 500 GB M.2 nvme drives, Win11.

Glider pilot since 1980...

Avid simmer since 1992...

Exactly. The next release will be when Lockheed Martin decide it's ready for release - this year, next year, some time, never..

WHenever they release it, I hope they switch to an inplpace install rather than the complete  uninstall/reinstall method. BUT  I will enjoy it anyway.

Dont believe they would to do that. For one, It is a commercial product with serious implications therefore LM can't hide behind "its just a game" concept.

A complete uninstall/re-install is more controllable and satisfactory from a quality assurance point of view. A in-place install would have to be shown to work on a range of existing installations, all in different states with many 3rd party add-ons from .

As RWFeldman said this is a commercial product.
