Monitor resolution question

Recommended Posts

I would like better sharpness/readability on add-on aircraft panels, i.e. Coolsky DC-9 widescreen 2/iFly 737/PMDG 737 NGX, etc. Currently I have a 27" 1920 x 1080 monitor. Would the Dell UltraSharp 27" or 24" look sharper? Thanks.

Assuming screen quality and size stays about the same, if you increase the screen resolution to say, 2560x1440, the image will be sharper/more crisp i.e. more readable. Of course, that may affect your frame rates.

How zoomed in/out you are in the VC makes a big difference too towards the readability of gauges. From my normal VC sitting/viewing position in the Catalina, I can barely make out many of the gauge numbers. And can in no way make out the com/nav frequency digital digits, need to use different views for that.

Many people have a 2nd monitor for gauges so they can see them easily.

Have the Dell U2412M and I must say it is superb and pin-sharp at 1920x1080. No complaints from me.
