Some nice shots PMDG 737 NGX with Opus live weather !

Yep, OPUS is getting better every day (literally). I've been a bit reluctant to change after long years using AS only. But now I have no regrets. Guys, don't think twice - Opus is the right way to go. Of course, the textures come from REX.

That first shot  is indeed something I've never seen with AS2012. I still haven't been able to make my mind up whether i should give Opus a try... So many differing opinions!

To be honest, I gave OPUS a good long try, but since active sky are putting out their SP2 and BETA' their package is far superior to Opus..

For example, for a many number of months , I was getting opposite winds [in cruise] to what one would expect. When travelling across the Atlantic from England to America, I was getting tailwinds, and vice versa for the way back. It wasn't a freak occurance, happened every flight. I just get the feeling that cruise winds are not properly implemented.

Active sky  2012 sp2 is absolutely amazing and a big step up from the original version

Well, I did get OPUS FSX yesterday. It did look very cool with the cloud coverage in valleys and TrackIR worked without a problem.

Then I closed the sim and restarted and since that TrackIR is fubar.   With the renamed .manifest-files there trackIR won't start since it thinks there is no compatible title running. If I give them their original names TrackIR jumps all around and is totally unusable. Only when I uninstalled OPUS FSX was TrackIR its usual stable as a rock.

There probably is a fix for this since there's been a lot of discussion re TrackIR, but I just don't have the nerves any longer to try and find a stable FSX setup fiddling with TrackIR settings. I'll try and go back to an earlier TrackIR driver, and then see how it unfolds.

Have to take a look at Active sky 2012 sp2 too, thanks for the heads up Alex!

Does Opus work over a network like AS?

Once I started with Opus Weather, I just can't stop enjoying it

Opus every time, not only does it create impressive looking weather(when combined with textures) the weather is realistic.

To me active sky just created weather, never really looking anything like what it was at the station. You'd get metars with bkn009 bkn012 which on the ground likely to look likely flat overcast skies with right temps etc, active sky would have bluesky everywhere and cumulus bubbly cloud. It always struggled to match the metar in my opinion and under created weather. It's sim connect link also seems to often freeze with no indication it had, till you wondered why you still got old weather showing. Then there the issue with how often their servers down.

Opus is excellent, and really not worth bothering with anything else.

Absolutely agree with you!

Opus is new level of weather in FSX. (Metar = what you see). For me, what is PMDG in aircraft simulation, Opus is in wether. Everything is as should it be. I suggest it to everyone. When you try it, you will never go back to the other wheather engines.

I just got Opus, it's really nice!

I left AS and the REX WX, really enjoying it!

(If anyone could be kind and assist me, I am flying on FL360, the wind changes so strange and I go over speed, can anyone send me a PM with a fix perhaps)

Here is a couple of shots of live. AS2012 SP2. Please understand that I was not taking these just to show the weather it was just for GP's.
