Deciding on a Joystick

Hi all,

I've been deciding what joystick to purchase, the Logitech Extreme or the Thrustmaster. I like to get your opinions on the joysticks you're currently using. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit operating system, so I'll need to purchase one that's compatible with Windows 7. I'm currently using the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 and it's about 12 or 13 years old. It's not compatible with Windows 7. The joystick works fine with Windows 7 but it will not install its own drivers and therefore I cannot use the programmable features. I have the license version of the FSUIPC program but I'm always having to go back and assign the actions again. Even the actions I've assigned using, for example the PMDG 747-400, do not always work. I'm always having to go back and assign them again. When I purchase a new joystick, I want one that has freedom of motion. This is what I liked about the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. What I mean is that I do not want a joystick that has the return to center spring type motion. I've looked at Amazon and it looks like most of them are the return to center spring type. The price range I'm looking for is around $30.00

Depending on what thrustmaster if it is the warthog buy it im waiting for mine

Looks like there is no good FF replacement for your joystick within your budget. Maybe a 2nd hand Force 3d Pro. That or anything with exposed springs such as Saitek Cyborg X. This way, you may compress the spring using zip ties and you won't feel the spring again.
