Anyone know how to 100% Disable P3D to pick up my joystick?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Does anyone know what option needs to be enabled or disabled for P3D to not pick up joystick when starting up.  I am using FSUIPC for my joystick calibration.  Everytime I manually turn it off, I lose the AI planes due to the P3D bug.

I am using Windows 8 and for that very purpose FSUIPC fixes my joystick woes.

Suggestions?

Thank you

Try setting the w8 power option to performance. What P3D bug? I am running w7 but I have FSUIPC controlling my yoke, rudders, TQ and the Saitek X52 with NO problems.

Did you disable ALL joystick axis in P3D?

Hey Vic,

The problem came back up when I installed FSDT KJFK and Orbx KORS scenery.  It appears when I install something new.  But so far it is remembering that FSUIPC controls joystick.  I have P3D joystick option disabled in P3D config.

It is strange issue at times.

Thanks

I don't have the KJFK nor KORS so I can't test but I have ORBX England, PNW, NZ, etc with no issues. One other thought - check that W8 isn't turning OFF your USB ports if it thionks tghey're inactive. Possibly it turns them off and when they trun back on, the CFG is wrong. Just a guess but worth looking into.

Hi,

I have the VRAC throttle quad, Revolution rudder pedals and a PFC 737 column yoke. What I had to do to get ride of interference from P3D/FSUIPC is go item by item and remove all of P3D's default Buttons and keys and control axes entries. I then programed FSUIPC to handle my hardware, everything works just fine on my system since performing the above steps. I did not however, disable my hardware via P3D's config file.

Not sure what you may or may not have tried yet, anyway hope this helps.

Hi Michael (@Mike_CFII_MEL),

Thanks for sharing your tip, your tip about removing all P3D assigned buttons gave me an idea.

I assigned the Joystick Calibration to Mouse Yoke, and since my mouse isn't tied to any axis or anything, FSUIPC is able to handle joystick at all times without P3D gaining control of the Thrustmaster Joystick randomly.

Everything is working fine for now.
