A new (NGX) version of the wonderful MD-11

Featured Replies

The NGX outsold the MD11 within an hour of release? Wow!

The Md11 is the best addon ive ever had. I love it more than the NGX even though the NGX is far better in realistic touches of wear and tear and has an easier loading method.. Still I just cant help myself, the Md-11 is such a beauty, I just cant stop flying her.

Do you guys have any clue what kinds of aircraft alot of ppl would like?

I know theyre not gonna make any Airbus aircrafts per now, but perhaps the classic 737?

I think the classic 737 would explode in sales. I really miss a NGX-quality classic 737...!!

Enigma sim is working on the 737 classic and visually so far, it looks better than the NGX, let's hope the flight systems are as good as the visuals though...

Yeah, I'd have to get permission from PMDG (potentially Lefteris) - there is also potential issues because the main texture is still the default texture, it's just the text that is affected. However, the results are still noticeable, here is a before/after

I have the PMDG md 11 and your work makes a difference. I wish it will be approved and uploaded in the avsim library.

+1 for the reworked virtual cockpit textures, very very interested as a MD-11F cargo truck driver!

Great job, Luke.  Being that PMDG has announced they will not be updating the MD-11 at all, I certainly hope they will approve your texture upgrade.  It'll make a huge difference for us dedicated drivers.

Luke,

I hope PMDG sees this and gives your work the big thumbs up!  How big are the files BTW?

About 150mb - significantly less once compressed into a .zip/.rar file though.

Just to clarify, this doesn't actually change anything other than the quality of the text, although I did modify a couple of other textures just to suit myself (like the pillar textures, which I found very off putting).

This is what it looks like during the day.

Just thought I'd point that out in case people were getting there hopes up I'd done much more extensive upgrading to the textures.

Luke Harvest

Just the added clarity of the text alone is well worth it.  It would be mighty nice to sit back in the captain's chair in the VC view and not have to zoom in on buttons/switches as much.

I am happy enough I guess with all the textures installed already, but the overhead text is an awesome improvement.

I would sure like having myself some of that :)

Luke, what airport is that?

Thanks

The MD-11 is clearly the plane I fly the more often.

Such a magnificent work by PMDG. Thanks to all the Team for this Chef d'Oeuvre!!

A dream to fly, the perfect automatization, the raw power of that beast, the unique and distinctive look of this trijet etc... Never tired to fly her.

Actually, until I see these great pictures of the improved cockpit, I didnt feel the need to have her upgraded.

Because, it is smooth on framerate, and sharp enough. But I have to admit that the 4096 definition gives that sharper look that makes it even more attractive!

Great job!

I'd love to have 4096x4096 VC textures for the MD-11.  Are you taking orders Luke??

I second that :P
