Can someone please explain to me what the difference is between the work he did on the panel not being ok to share; and the work others do to create liveries, and it is ok to share?

There is a paint kit for the liveries and probably the EULA allows it.

Don't feel sorry for me, when I made this I had very little hope it'd be allowed to be shared so primarily made it for my own use. If anything, I feel bad for sharing this and getting people's hopes up.

 

Sell it to pmdg for cheap,then they can issue it as a service pack! Problem solved.  B)  :ph34r:  :biggrin:

Dave: I am under impression Luke would be happy to give to them for free...although I don't think PMDG would want to open the project again....

Perhaps a minor update, flight deck textures, ground ops page on the CDU, nothing too serious, just enough, as far as systems go she is already top notch.

Just because it's on AVSIM, doesn't mean PMDG approved it...

Hmmm. I think PMDG hijacked my MD11 to remain in the hangar with the 777 installer. Thought I would take it out for a spin cause its getting jealous and all with all the 777 flying and set it up and it crashed via FMC inputting to and from airports. Go figure. Not installing this again. 

Its the only aircraft that got omitted from the Ops Center so thats my conspiracy theory and im sticking to it.  :lol:

The 747 gets an upgrade. MD11 gets silent treatment.  :mellow:

That's really a shame that MD-11 won't get updated vc even if the update is free  :(  What harm does it do to PMDG if "outdated" product receives enhancements by someone who's ready to make those enhancements free...

This individual was told 1 week ago directly by me that he could not distribute this as it is a breach of our EULA and copyright. He apparently chose to do it anyway.

IIRC there was someone a couple years ago who did the same?

Although if I remember he pulled it right away.

Well, for the 747, I can understand that PMDG don't want that because of the upcoming 747 V2

 

So, It's not the same story for the "abandoned" MD-11.

It's clear that there is no more update to come from PMDG for that product, so why to refuse that someone share for free HD VC textures??

At least, it's nice for old customer, at best, new buyer could be interested to buy one with up to date VC.

It's a Win Win deal.

I realy hope that PMDG will revise his position about this particular product.
