Wont even consider a P3D version nor third party VC upgrade. Dead is dead I guess. Real Shame

I own the MD-11 and love it. I would pay the same I just paid for the 777. I would not expect any discount because I already own it.

Maybe the MD-11 fans can make a formal request to PMDG to release the community to make some HD VC textures.  I know this has been done with the 747 but the person who did it was asked to stand down given that PMDG planned to continue development of the 747 V2.  With PMDG's stance on the MD-11 being that no further development will take place, perhaps they will be receptive to letting some of the talented people in the community take on the project as a purely freeware exercise.  It's worth a try.

PMDG have said time and time again that the majority of their customers don't post on these forums, i don't think that the people here would be able to influence them greatly.

Yes, that would seem to be a solution, actually the systems are still pretty great; perhaps PMDG could release a graphics update, charge the same as a model around the $20 mark.

I do miss the MD-11, i just can't sit in that cockpit since the NGX and 777.

PMDG can't stop you from making your own cockpit texture and sharing it, as long as you don't keep any of their work in it....

But that have. Someone made some new textures and PMDG declined to let them upload them.

Try the 2D Panel. When I purchaed the MD-11 three years ago, I took one look at the VC and decided on the 2D. So now I am flying 744, NGX, 777 using the VC and the MD-11 using the 2D Panel. Crazy but it works.

For me, using the 2D cockpit presents centralising problems. As soon as you touch the 'top-hat' switch the 2D changes to a false view. Any one got a solution?

What?! ....... Sorry but the MD-11 VC is nowhere near as some guys are making out, sure it's low rez around the sides of the cockpit but look at the screens, look at the overhead.... I think it's fine and remember that lower resolution  =  more performance, frames and smoothness out of FSX.     It certainly doesn't warrant a move back to 2D panels IMHO!

With TrackIR, very little out there beats the MD-11 for immersiveness, certainly not the T7 but that's just my opinion.

Count me in for a an updated or new version. And certainly for a kickstart.

Yup, PMDG already stated in this topic they won't make an update.

That's ok, but it was a bit disappointing, they didn't allow the text update one of the members here made.

That would be enough update for me.

 It looked great.

As a long time customer of PMDG who has bought everything they released for FSX i'll confess this annoys me and leaves me with a slightly bitter taste.

Try the 2D Panel.

Thanks, but no thanks.  I have left 2D panels behind, they don't work great with 5760x1080, you either have to edit the panel or manually resize.

Yeah we have all been spoilt by the later PMDG products, Q400 and Airbus X  :P

I tried trackir, i found it annoying, it hurt my neck.  I'll stick with mouse look on EZCA

Quite ironic as they base their business model on reverse engineering another product, and selling add-ons for it... and they don't tolerate a user giving away an update a users has made? The dubious ethics aside, I'm not sure if they have any juridistriction to do so, in fact, I'm pretty sure they don't.
