April 2, 201313 yr I would say, that the the Freeradio fix, which works, has an undesired side effect on the 3d panel, as you can see in the picture. I've now switched to the Freeradio panel so that is not an issue for me.. It is part my not understanding .. what is Freeradio ? Could you show a screenshot of what you are using? April 2, 201313 yr My post above has side by side screenshots.. the "Freeradio" option gives you a flat surface for the radio stack where you can place you own gauges. You get to it, by toggling a switch below the radio stack. It used to have a single black knob, interfering with whatever was placed there, but this knob is now gone. It is part my not understanding .. what is Freeradio ? Bert
April 2, 201313 yr Bert, Freeradio, "You get to it, by toggling a switch below the radio stack." Ok, now I see ... It was always part of the Milviz Baron. For some reason I was thinking Freeradio was maybe a name given to this "fix" or update by Milviz ... like a Service Pack to correct problems. Thanks for the information. April 2, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member I just had a few minutes to toss in the new model - works perfectly! I'm a very happy guy right now.. will be spending a bit of time doing a bit of hangar maintenance on her with some new radios, then I'll be taking a flight. I can't confirm whether the fix makes the 3d gps knobs messed up, my VNC connection is too slow to let me run with more than 256 colors which makes checking details like that impossible. I'll know tonight though and report back. Regardless, I'm not really concerned, since I'll be keeping my flat panel! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
April 3, 201313 yr Chuck, as Bert's image shows, I'm also now seeing the "floating knobs" on my RXP's in the 3D panel with this change. For the 3D panel with integrated RXP's, I liked the old, though flawed, version better. I've reverted back to the old model, but then I'll confess - I'd never even noticed the wayward knob until someone pointed it out. In a normal left-seat view, that knob is partially blocked by the yoke anyway and when I did finally see it, I though it was something partially hidden on the panel next to the 430 that was supposed to be there. If you shift to the right seat view everything was fine as well. For those using the free radio panel, I can imagine it's a welcome fix. Scott
April 3, 201313 yr Thanks for the feedback Gentlemen its been of great help , these items and the couple of others listed on the MV Forum are being attended to and assembled into a SP released with the least possible delay . Best CJ
April 3, 201313 yr Jim, " Interestingly enough, the P38 (which I treated myself to yesterday - hey, if my kids can have Easter candy, so can I!) uses the exact same mechanism for the radio stack, and it works perfectly fine - no out of place knobs there!" Did you happen to do a screenshot of the RealityXp Garmins in the P38? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
April 3, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Did you happen to do a screenshot of the RealityXp Garmins in the P38? Sorry, no. My comment was in regards to the free radio panel mechanism working perfectly in the P38 - it was immediately obvious that there was nothing out of place. I have yet to play with any panel mods in that particular plane, still getting used to flying it! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
