I got FSX acceleration recently.

I would like to do carrier ops with the default F/A-18 (later maybe the VRS F/A-18E Superbug)

Now, I need a suggestion for a joystick to get started ... under $100 ... maybe a little more?

For a budget joystick, I recommend the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Its durable, has a twist stick for rudder control, and an array of buttons + hat switch for view control.

There are likely others under $100 that are better, but the Logitech is one that sticks out in my mind, and should be priced around $50, or less.

X2!  But Caveat Emptor!  The product is top notch, but support is abysmal.

Great, that's the best "all-round" HOTAS. Cheap price, decent quality, not too specialized, enough buttons, programmable profiles... The only flaw is the only one throttle axis, but that's the thing I can live with.
