Please Help me out with FSX!

Hello guys,

First of all my performance RIG is

i7 2600K 3.7ghz

8GB DDR III

GTX 680

H80 Liquid cooler

 

.. I was having low FPS within FSX like Default EGLL and Airbus X Extended around 12-15 Fps with GTX 560..So I decided to upgrade my GPU to GTX 680 .. and I am surprised there hasn't been change in FPS except 2 fps increase may be..All my money seems wasted

I have reinstalled FSX and Tried every possible tweak  and my tempratures are normal 

Please help me out!

Before we can start troubleshooting, you must post your FSX settings, and start with a new FSX.cfg.

 

To obtain a new fsx.cfg, simply copy your old one from the \Appdata folder to a temporary location, and FSX will create a new one the next time you start FSX.

 

If you are still having problems, we can assume it's a system problem, or if you are having low fps in one area, possibly a duplicate AFCAD

I upgraded from a 560ti to a 680 FTW+ and saw no increase in FPS so returned it. FPS is mainly dependent on CPU speed, increases in FPS for GPU are based on things like clouds. You should be able to overclock that CPU some more. Plenty advice here on this forum.

Have you tried lowering fiber time fraction I lowered mine to .28 and it gave me a good FPS boost you go down to .1 but you'll have blurrys on ground textures. Also since your running liquid cooling why not overclock to like 4.5 GHZ?

Overclocking clearly isn't the problem here. 12 fps is unusually low, nobody with such a system should be getting "12 fps" at a default airport. There is something clearly wrong in the CFG, or in his system.

My other games are Running pretty smooth....So can't be system problem here is my FSX.cfg posting directly

and ingame anti aliasing isn't working for unknown reasons Graphics don't appear that attractive even with REX

Turn your aircraft AI density settings down or even off and see if that helps. 71 and 47 should be more like 25 and 10 to be realistic.

Try setting frame limiter to unlimited in game. I had mine set to 30 FPS but setting in to unlimited gave me another 5 FPS. Don't ask me why.

14.4 fps is certainly not normal, not with your configuration. You didn't specify if that picture you took was *with* the new CFG file ? Or with your old one ? 

 

Is the low fps consistent like this at all airports? Or just certain ones?

Very nice and all that everyone is trying to help to improve performance of sidh's PC, but that doesn't change the fact that he wasted money on upgrading his GPU. All that has been said should already have been looked at before he bought that 680. The new GPU may help a little woth FSAA (if he gets it working right) but no tweaking will turn that purchasse of the 680 into a good purchase... Any change on returning that card to the shop...?

 

BTW Is your resolution correct? 1366x768 seems like a small screen for the hardware you have!

 

And as someone else already said: the fact that other games run perfectly well says nothing at all. FSX is not your general PC game.

Ok Sidh, I know this is not an exact like for like but at Chicago using your settings of 71 and 47 at active runway in my PMDG 737 I am getting 14 FPS with my i5 at 4.5 Ghz and 560 ti.
