April 19, 201313 yr Really looking forward to this. Very interested in seeing the weather radar in action. As much as I am excited for the project, a beta tester told me that he was never able to get anything meaningful out of it. I think it may be just pretty. The community has been back and forth a thousand times about how it's not technically possible to write a WX radar for FSX, simply because of the way it is coded. I would be very careful with statements like that. The beta tester would have been bound by strict NDAs with severe commercial penalties for breaches. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
April 19, 201313 yr Commercial Member @@MijitmanWe did not necessarily create a weather radar for FSX/Q400. In actuality the MJC weather radar does not use the FSX clouds. Instead we analyze the weather report around the aircraft and at several weather stations around, and make the assumption about the reflectivity based on the beam geometry, the cloud layers heights, the types of clouds and the reported precipitation. It is not an exact science, but more of an attempt to create something of difference and functionality. As with anything, some may like it, and others will dis-like it, giving their opinions, that is all good, as it is a part of our wonderful hobby. It also allows for us to get a idea of what/how the consumer thinks and we appreciate those have offer constructive criticism, as it gives us the opportunity to approach something differently as we would attempt to implement a better solution, for better enjoyment/usability of a given system/product. April 19, 201313 yr Anyone know if you buy the Pilot version will you only have to pay the difference to go up to Pro later on? If not I'll probably just wait for the Pro one... We are pleased to confirm that owners who have purchased the Majestic Dash 8 Q-400 for FSX from Just Flight will be able to upgrade through Just Flight to the next editions when they are available, with the upgrade cost simply being the price difference between the current owned version and the next version with no additional cost. Simeon Interesting nonetheless and at least one of the main instruments aircraft use and is a big part of flying can be part of flying this aircraft. You just might want to remove the word "accurate weather radar returns" from one of your promo videos just in case you get people complaining about the reality of it if its not an exact science and is largely based on assumption. I dont have a problem with it. Just nice effort for creativity. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
April 19, 201313 yr Content removed by Administration. You know Elijah, Third party testimony is notoriously unreliable. It is against the AVSIM ToS to release information from Beta testers, directly, or indirectly. First, second or third party unsubstantiated accusations, innuendo and liable are all wrapped up in this gossip. I am deleting each of your statements and those who quoted you. I did not penalize you for this, although you could have been suspended or banned, let alone be sued by the developer. My advice is for you to go mute on all this, be thankful more has not come out of it, and don't do it again. Kind regards,
