Majestic Q400 website up and running

Considering the previous activation issues with the majestic Q-300 mentioned in this forum ( USE OF CC INFO AND SECURITY NUMBER TO ACTIVATE THE PRODUCT), and the promise to correct it, is it please possible for anybody with official knowledge to inform potential purchasers about the activation method used in Q400 ?

Also, are there any differences between the activation methods used by the online sellers, especially regarding the data used to activate (e.g cc info)?

Hi gbk1,

All you will need to unlock the product (I can only speak for us - Just Flight) is the order reference number, which we will display to you on the web page right after your order is placed and then also sent to you via an email, the email address used to place the order with us, and your surname.

You won't need to send ANY card details as part of the unlocking process.

Hope that helps.

Hah I've been really thinking about how the FS world will be after this bird gets released.

Will people start to speak about "Majestic Software" standards and compare other addons to Majestic Software Dash 8 instead of PMDG 737NGX?

At least the flight dynamics calculated outside FSX is something that sounds very revolutionary, I guess tomorrow I will find out how it feels.

Lately I've been mainly using Athens (with Flytampa scenery) as the main base of my virtual airline, Dash 8 suits Mediterranean island hopping just perfectly, some years ago I even flew from Chania, Crete to Athens on Olympic Air Dash 8-Q400.

Very true! I think the entire community will be VERY surprised. Because the dynamics are outside of FSX it will be a very new experience for everyone. Out of all the aircrafts I have flown the NGX is very unique but the Q400 surpasses the experience (even though it is an entirely diff aircraft) The "feel" is alot more realistic (This from my own personal flying experience in the real world and talking to Dash 8 pilots)

From the MJC forum

The flight dynamics of the MJC400 utilizes an open source JsbSim flight dynamics

engine, which is a successor of the LARCSIM built by NASA.

The flight dynamics is therefore will still be used even in the addon for the Microsoft

Flight Simulator, as the Microsoft flight simulator will be “repositioned” using the

JsbSim output, but will not be “flying” as such.

The JSBSIM flight dynamics has the following advantages over the Microsoft own flight

dynamics:

· Correct ground dynamics – The airplane wheels friction is correctly simulated by

the JsbSim, preventing the aircraft from “skidding” on takeoff, landing or even

taxi with side wind.

· The JsbSim works with a rate of 125Hz versus 30Hz in the Microsoft flight

dynamics, potentially providing a 4 times better responses to the flight conditions.

· JsbSim also gives a full control on gear positions, allowing us to fully simulate

the gear malfunctions (not locking, failure to retract or extend)

· Lift due to propeller airstream simulation: with JsbSim we also simulate the

changes in the wing lift due to the propeller created airstream, the effect without

which the correct turboprop flight dynamics during takeoff and landing is

impossible to achieve.

If your word for this comes to light, it will be a very interesting aircraft to fly. Sure the NGX is a revolutionary aircraft for FSX, I love PMDG, the quality, the effort they put into a product to bring the best experiences for the simmer, but it will be very interesting to see another developer aside from PMDG create an aircraft equally or more as impressive than the NGX.

Simmarket has put up the site for the Dash (no "purchase" button yet ;) ) - but also the promise of no extra charge for updating:

"NOTE: Purchase with confidence. If you wish to upgrade to the Pro or Trainer version when these become available, you will be doing so at no extra cost, just pay the difference."

So you have the choice!

Ahh that's good too, I prefer buying it from Simmarket simply because I have majority of my other addons bought from there, easier to obtain them again if needed when they are all from the same place.

Its April 20th in Australia right now

This is the addon i have been waiting for since i started in FS in 1991. A really good, big, turboprop. This is going to be a wonderful Saturday. Thank you Dimitri & Co!

JSBSim for the calculations! Nicee!! (I also use flightgear which also uses that FDM on some models). Looking forward to tomorrow!

I tried to set up an account on Just Flight in anticipation of buying this weekend but somehow it would not accept my application because I guess I had no prproducts in the cart. I suppose I will just have to fill out everything when I go to purchase it next week....unfortunatley I am away this weekend.

You can create an account without purchasing a product. Please contact our orders team ([email protected]) if you encounter this issue again.

Thanks

Does anyone know whether the Dash 8 will have the ability to assign keyboard commands to the custom Autopilot functions etc?

(Either thorough a GUI, or FSUIPC Mouse Macros, or a Lua script etc) ?
