Majestic Software Q400 Music & Cabin Announcements.

Featured Replies

Is there any way to make these stop? Especially the music.

I know you can stop the music by closing the door, but ... as much as I like classical music (I actually really do) - the airline I will be simulating (Qantaslink/Eastern/Sunstate) does not play music for boarding. (one other airline I have flown with IRL (they only have A320's) plays 'the local radio station' during boarding, not classical music).

I'v figured out how to trigger Cabin announcements from the FMS, but I just want to get rid of that music, preferably forever, mostly for the realism factor of the airline I'm simulating.

Feel free to record or replace the music pieces with whatever you want to, just as long as you save them with the same file names you should be good to go (song1.wav, song2.wav etc). You could record a moment of silence with sound recorder if you don't want music at all.

Same for the announcements, you can record your own if you're unhappy with the default ones, replace the ones here:

...\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\mjc8q400\sound\announcement\default

I havent tested it myself, so MAKE A BACKUP before meddling with the files, but I'd bet you a fiver it works just  fine.

PS:

There's an interesting file in the annoucement\default folder, if you read the "events_flow.txt" file it lets you know what triggers the various announcements:

."Shift E to open the door"
."Master switch ON"
."ARCDU1 ON"
10s delay
Music starts
10s delay
Cap: boarding ann.

."N2 prop rpm>150"
FA: welcome ann.
30s delay
FA: safety ann.
Music stop

."Approach light ON"
5s delay
Captain: Seats for takeoff

."In the air"
."Seat belts OFF"
5s delay
FA: Climb ann.

."Flaps 0"
."N2 prop rpm 850"
."|VS| < 100fpm"
delay 120s
.Cap: Cruise ann.

."PTU Light On"
delay 40s
FA: Approach ann.

."Flaps >0"
delay 30s
Capt: Seats for landing

."On the ground"
."GS < 30kts"
FA: after landing ann.

Yes can be done easy goto Majestic aircraft folder then sub folder ini and edit the following file mjc84.ini

Change this line from ;

; flag to enable/disable music

entertainment_music_enabled        = 1

Into

; flag to enable/disable music

entertainment_music_enabled        = 0

as always make first a backup of the ini file...

Thank you. That music was so FSPassengers! I know many people like it, but when I'm running the checklist I want to hear the plane talking, not the cabin music.

Another way to stop music is to set the variable "entertainment_music_enabled" to 0 in ini/mjc84.ini file

Or you can also go into FMS DATA/CABIN menu and switch it off for one time.

Note that you can personalize cabin announcements PER LIVERY by creating a subfolder in the livery's folder with the same file hierarchy that the default announcements.

I took a communications Eurolot capitana and cabins in the Announcements folder. I have a wav file. But when it is a genuine exchange of these recordings on a plane you can not hear. Does anyone know why?

I have the dame problem. I am trying to create some FlyBe announcements but you can't hear the wav files in the sim.

Kind regards,

Make sure the file is in same format. Not just .wav, but stereo/mono, same rate, same frequency etc.
