There is one PMDG for each reason, short legs J41, short to medium NGX, long MD11, I like to flight this with scales, long direct flights and big airports 747, and now we will have the 777 to join these 3, I think I will flight each one week, then to compleat my airline family I flight CS727-200 and new DC9 coolsky I would love to have those from PMDG, I am also thinking of buying the Q400 every body is talking about

great stable!

Don't get me wrong, I truely love the NGX. What I meant was that knowing PMDG there will be lots of amazing new stuff with the T7 and I would love seeing that new stuff also implemented in a version 2 of the NGX wherever appropriate. Obviously there will be lots of stuff in the T7 that wouldn't suite a 737 since they are different aircraft.

They have already mentioned that some changes will be implemented in the 737 as a direct result from T777

can only make an amazing a/c even better

The only plane I'll leave in the hangar is the current 747-400 and that's only after v2 is released.  I spend about 90% of my flight time in the MD-11 now and once I purchase the 777, I plan to split my flying time equally between the two.  It will get interesting once the 744v2 is released trying to divvy up flight hours between the three.  Regardless of how old the MD-11 gets, there's just no way I can fly it to the boneyard and park her for good.

I will buy the T7. I am not worried about it taking time from the NGX though as I will more than likely split them up equally. The longest flight I have ever made in the NGX has been from KMIA to KLAX and the MD-11 has also made that one.

I am not one for super long hauls, but I do see some NZCH to YSSY flights made with the T7.

I know Orbx world will more then likely expand my flying longer routes, as right now I don't really like to fly over default terrain and that limits my flights/times.

Wasn't aware of that but that's great news!

Well I mostly agree with everyone else here in regards of splitting the time between the 777, NGX and MD-11. I'll use the T7 on mostly all of my long hauls but will occasionally use it on the MIA-LAX route under American Airlines.

I for one like to use the planes on the routes that I have flown on actual airlines. So I see myself very happily doing the FAJS to OMDB to EGLL route on an Emirates 777. But given that my flight from YSSY to FAJS was on a Qantas 747 -400, I am happy with the current PMDG one, and will get the v2 when that is released. And depending on the time of day or how much I have available, I happily use the NGX for the routes I have already done on actual airlines..

For me, it's more about having the actual plane for the journey that I fancy, rather than finding a journey for the plane I have.

But all in all, that's just me, and I see the sense in everyone else's opinions for or against the 777, it's about what works for you and what does not. I think we're quite fortunate to have the likes of PMDG (I can't comment on the other high end developers cause I have none of the products) that actually provides us with a nice selection of aircraft pretty much for everyone's taste.

Though, is there any word on PMDG doing a realistic Millenium Falcon? Time for a thread on that one perhaps ^_^

Yes, I will fly the 737 because I won't buy the 777. That plane doesn't interest me at ALL. Would be nice indeed if the 737 will get an update with some new PMDG 777 tech (if appropriate) but other then that I am perfectly fine with the 737.

Nice i to will still fly the 737 i fight so hard in the past to get good frame rates for this bird an it is running perfect. I wonder if we will have those problem with the T7 i hope not . I think PMDG will do a great job. I think it was the NGX that put PMDG at the top . I know they have more quality add on , but the one who receive a lot of attention was  the NGX . I know you said you won't buy the T7 but do you think Fs2crew will do anything for the T7 just like they did for the NGX ?

I will not be buying the 777 or the Dash-8. I will not be buying any aircraft of this caliber until I have mastered the NGX! Given that I have limited time to fly in the summer and the flying time I have, will be spent cross country soaring for real, I won't be mastering the NGX until the end of next winter by which time, I will be in the same boat again! It will be 2 years before I buy the 777. I may never buy it because I could be dead tomorrow and if not I am more likely to buy the 747 V2. By the time I master that retirement and dementia will be beckoning.

PMDG will provide great tutorial for the T7 don't worry . You will master the NGX an the T7 will be easy i mean not that hard to understand .

Wawo KMIA to KLAX did you fly on full tank of fuel ? That is a long flight even in a 757 .

Hi all,

Good points Dave. Now tell me what you'll do when they release the PMDG 747-400 v.2? lol

When the 747 V2 comes out I'll probably be retired, that's 20 years away yet, lol................No seriously I don't know yet, If I'm flying the 747 still which I hardly ever do as the MD11 is just so good, then I might consider an upgrade worth while, I will probably have had it about 7 years by then, so it won't owe me if I upgrade. Might on the other hand just keep version 1 if it doesn't get used much.

Happy Flying,

Dave Phillips.

Not quite full but close. I usually fly it fully loaded down. American Airlines flies this route in the 800s.

On a computer you fly an a/c you enjoy not only by the way it functions but by the way it looks. What "worries" me is that the previews we have been shown by PMDG of the 777 are not as "wow" as I thought. They look "just normal." Now I know some will disagree, but of what I've seen, I can say that PSS already did this almost 13 years ago (are you kidding me, no I'm not!). So, I hope the end result is as good as the 737 in terms of looks, as well.

Fly or no Fly the 737 NGX:

Again, I personally fly an a/c that is well simulated and by its beauty, not necessarily by what its real counterpart does in real life, in terms of flying distance...I "fly" on a computer not out there in the sky. So, having said this, I fly  (98.8 % of the time) large a/c between short distances I just adjust the a/c weight. I would have to be  a  little "out of my mind" to only fly a large a/c at distances  (or time frames) of 3, 4, 5 ,or six hours-- Pointless!  So, that "long haul" idea is useless on my computer. I fly any a/c within short distances to enjoy the take off, flight, and landing...Period. So, I don't find any fun sitting in front of a computer for 3 ,4, 5, or 6 hours at a time-- Pointless and Useless ! So, folks when the T-7 comes out maintain the "freeness" to keep flying your 737 and the T-7 (and any other a/c you enjoy), within "fun range" not within "hours of flight-range."  Amen?  AMEN  !!!!

(man, brother Johnny; you make these guys mad with your simplicity and common sensing)

I know you said you won't buy the T7 but do you think Fs2crew will do anything for the T7 just like they did for the NGX ?

I am sure they will. Or at least want to. It all depends on the SDK, I suppose. I have to add that if I was indeed planning to get the 777, I wouldn't do so until FS2Crew for 777 was available! I never fly the 737NGX without FS2Crew. It wasn't until I bought FS2Crew for the 737 that I really got hooked on the plane!

I'm sure PMDG will do a fantastic job on the T7, but just by the natue of the RL T7, there will be much redundancy to the NGX. Once you've learned the FMC, MCP and the finer points of it all ( ISA deviation, descent forecasting etc....) it's going to be a lot like the NGX, only larger. Systems management might be more automated, not sure.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to their DC-6, which will be a total different experience. New learning curve and all. I prefer VOR to VOR flying with the older Sperry AP as it keeps you much busier than a modern FMC. I prefer short flights ( 500 km or less) just for the sake of time. But that's just me. I'm sure PMDG will not dissapoint  the T7 fans with this release.

I hope they have some nice tutorial videos when it is release. An i also hope FS2crew works their magic just like they did with the NGX . That might be next year depends an how long PMDG takes to release this bird .  An also waiting for the first SP1 for the T7 . I don't know if fs2crew started working on the voice control project for the ngx when pmdg release service pack 1, but most likely fs2crew will wait for sp1 from the pmdg T7 until they start working on a voice control add on .
