April 28, 201313 yr What makes people think that the 777 will be another step up from the NGX? I think that the NGX is almost at the limit of the capabilities of FSX. Even the Q400, great though it is, still (in my opinion) not at the level of the NGX. I am not sure why people are worrying about the nature of long haul? We have a facility within FSX most real airlines (and no doubt passengers) would love, we can speed up time. So my first flight from Manchester to Dubai normally takes 8 (give or take) hours. I always fly until top of cruise and from TOD. Say 1 hour in total from the phases above. Leaving 7 hours, at 2x speed 3.5hrs, 4x 1.75 and when in sparse areas 8x making 7 hours fly (pun intended) by in under 1 hour. Shorter than most NGX flights. Ian R Tyldesley
April 28, 201313 yr I don't do long haul! Don't you spend of the time doing nothing? Short haul is action packed. little or no time between at cruising altitude. The NGX is a lot of action packed fun!
April 28, 201313 yr Meh.... the 737 can get and out of much smaller strips than the 777... And as far the 777 being long hauls... BAH! I'll be flying it wherever I want, short hauls etc... as my personal jet with an N callsign. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

April 28, 201313 yr I've never understood the draw of flying canned routes (well technically the TEC routes in socal are mostly the same)... but the tubeliner guys who simply find a route online, file that, and fly it without even looking at it. I prefer to make my own using skyvector etc... I want to know good alternates, the weather along the way, frequencies etc.... Thank goodness for good charts in the US. I'll be flying the B777 all over the socal area on tec routes lol | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
April 28, 201313 yr BAH! I'll be flying it wherever I want, short hauls etc That'll be me too once my inaugural flight to the other side of the world has been completed: KFWA-KDTW 135NM PHNL-PHTO 193NM PAFA-PANC 227NM All will be fair game. I also might pay a visit to KJAC's 6300ft runway for some "high altitude" testing. Here's some 777 performance summary calculations from Boeing http://www.boeing.com/commercial/startup/pdf/777_perf.pdf Chris Sunseri

For example if you want to fly over a big city or something . Or to make it more interesting fly over a mountain on approach to the runway . I know most real pilot out there will think twice to make an approach over a mountain . But since this is fsx an not real would be pretty cool. April 29, 201313 yr I think stop flying the NGX. And I will fly on 777 only. Mccarter, you moron!@
April 29, 201313 yr I just did a good 10 hour flight yesterday in the old 744X. This week, for review reasons, I will spend much more time in the 737 NGX, my short and medium route king (or is that queen???) When the T7 is out, I will fly it short and medium during the week, long and ultra long over the weekends, that is the great thing about simulation - I can fly it 200 2000 or 10000 miles, the decision is mine completely! Also in response to the poster about the T7 looking "normal" - you are right, it looks exactly like the real thing, very normal indeed, no missing windows, panels, buttons or displays  :LMAO: ! Not sure what else you can expect, amazing job by PMDG as far as I am concerned. Kind regards Werner Gillespie CYB2400Proud member of Cyber Air Virtual AirlinesAVSIM Staff Member
April 29, 201313 yr A lot will depend on how feature rich the T777 will be over and above the 737. If it just ends up being a stretched 737ngx then it will mainly appeal to hard core long haulers If theirs not much difference then 747v2 will be the go at least your getting 4 engines straight up ZORAN
April 29, 201313 yr Preference for long-haul or not, the 747 is the 747, so it is a completely different matter getting excited about it. The 777 wishes it could be as cool as the 747
