Quick Questions - Nosewheel Steering and Flight Controls

Recommended Posts

I have a quick question. If I have to use my yoke for nosewheel steering on the ground at <40 knots, how do I perform my flight control check during taxi without looking like I've had too many martinis at the bar? I may have just answered my own question in my head, but I would like to see what the response is from others.

Also, when using the yoke to control the tiller, do the flight control deviations show up on the PFCS? I only noticed the rudder deflection showing on the PFCS when performing checks. Since we can't see the wings from the cockpit view, it makes it hard to properly perform these necessary checks.

Thanks!

Do it after pushback but before you taxi.

Make sure the control lock is off otherwise you won't be able to move any flight surfaces but the rudder. Also select at least flaps 5 otherwise you won't see full rudder deflection, its limited to 50% travel with flaps up, if I remember correctly.

Cheers, Andy.
