Aerosoft Airbus (AXE) and P3D - Throttle issue

Recommended Posts

Hi, I commented on my throttle issue with this bird elsewhere, as suggested I'm starting a thread.

I have 2 brand new Saitek quadrants, I'm not using the Saitek software, but I do use FSUIPC as I have all my aircrafts setup this way with controls disabled in the sim.

Following the AS recommended procedure in their forums, it does not work, both levers will not move together and never be in the same mode together ie. CL etc.

What am I missing here? alternative methods of doing this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

not sure when you gave up on this; there's a rather new tool which can be used to configure your AXE more easily for dual throttle use.

First of all you have to make sure, you're on v1.04 of the AXE, since throttle issues, seemingly introduced with v1.03b, were fixed again with v1.04. (Hotfix011 not exactly necessary for your issue, but wouldn't hurt, either.)

Then have a look here: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/65800-hot-fix-013a-configurator/

Since you want to use two throttle axis for the AXE you'll have to activate dual throttle use.

You assigned throttle 1 and throttle 2 through FSUIPC, and recalibrated? (This one you came across before for sure: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/56474-fsuipc-axis-assignment-instructions/)

Lemme (us) hear what your findings are after the a.m. steps.

Thanks, I'll look at that, I saw a lot of info but after a while of trying this and that there's always that fear of really messing things up. My PMDG NGX runs like a charm and I dont want to mess that one up.

Now this link http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/56474-fsuipc-axis-assignment-instructions/ shows only aileron, elevator, rudder nothing about throttle?

Where are those good old days gone, when PSS gave us a '+' and a '-' to change up and down those detents ...

You could just give it a try stopping short of that FSUIPC stuff. Nothing will change on your system before you touch that. (Except that AXE config.)

I haven't used it in for a couple of weeks in p3d but I think I gave up on fsuipc and just did the throttles through the p3d control menu. I remember really having difficulty getting them set up.

I'll see what I did for you and post back

I think there is some confusion over that instructions.

To ONLY use FSUIPC for CALIBRATION:

All you need to do is setup via standard P3D settings and then go to FSUIPC calibration menu and calibrate it. No other things needed.

Unless you are not assigning via P3D standard assignment, then you use FSUIPC for AXIS assignment.
