05MAY13 - Release Dates on the 777 and Our Silence on Same

Featured Replies

Boeing didnt go and release and deliver the 787 to carriers just because they are overdue. If its not ready and satisfactory, it simply will not be delivered. End of story. No amount of standing on your head spitting nickles will change the fact. Principle is the same.

Totally unrelated to Boeing: back a few years ago I'm sure I read something about the Chinese/Koreans ordering aircraft from Bombardier, but they were too impatient and wanted them right there and then. Even-though the waiting list was back to 2-5 years. Kind of the same situation here lol.

The Chinese and Koreans went to another manufacturer. The competition in this case might as well be nonexistent. In the end the ones that cried the loudest and threaten to not buy it will be the first to buy it. I would love to know when it was coming out but they don't do that with new product releases. Not many other companies even give updates. Some delete threads, posts and users for even asking.

I agree about not giving dates and think your right, but the statement I have to say makes me lol. Why?

Still on you web site is the vid showing the "NGX coming this summer", nope...it was around 14 months later, you posted the vid and later you said it would be that Christmas.

Feb last year you said the DC 6 would be in our hands very soon? 14 months later....nope

The 777, no release dates but you went into great lengths to explain the NGX was the building block for all your aircraft to come and you expected the 777 to only take around 6 months and implied you could bring the 747v2 within the same time frame.

So 1 1/2 years later and.....nope

So I think it no surprise people asking Q. No "release dates" but ....come on. How about "no release dates or silly hints on them"

I'm happy with my Q400 so I've all but forgot about the 777, but pls don't make out "we never give release dates", come on! Really!

Your products are first class and I love and have all of them, and there done when there done is fine, but its you that comes out with all the "hints" and "dates".

Well said and I think this needs to stay pinned for everyone to see in the present and future.

You guys do make it hard to pick between reading a Private Pilots Oral guide or 777 FCOM (-;

It was an analogy. Obviously a very poor one.

Jarga-

You obviously didn't see the behavior that required the response...  If you had- you'd understand why it is rather firmly worded...

Hi Robert,

I'm part of these silent guys who sneak onto this forum to look for information and I don't often participate in the discussion because most of the time I don't feel it necessary and I have nothing interesting to bring.

Since the announcement of the T7 project, I have come everyday expecting a release anouncement (not a release date) or some previews.... and I have leaved sometimes happy with stars in the eyes when I see picture and otherwise  full of sorrow when nothing new... (joking!)

One thing that bugs me a lot and I thing make the tour less enjoyable is all these redundant and useless topics about the release dates...

So, I just wanted to thank you for the reminder.

I had many desappointment with other developers releasing unfinished and pretty unflyable addons so it is a great relief when you can buy blindly a product like from PMDG and it works immediately without any patch the first day!

I like your policy even if it may be a bit frustrating but I fully support it.

Stick with it!

Cheers

Shameful that Rob has to waste his time, "calming the children" ...... the irrational sense of entitlement is something that seems to be sweeping the globe these days .... strange.

We all want the T7, but those who descend into childlike, impetulent 'spats' and dummy-throwing tantrums, are truly just embarrassing themselves.

To those (the minority); show a little bit of restraint and maturity...... oh and perspective.

The more PMDG have to waste their time with crocks like this, the longer it will take to deliver the 777.
