05MAY13 - Release Dates on the 777 and Our Silence on Same

Featured Replies

So are lavatories, passengers, and a flight attendant call system

That argument was... I don't even have words to describe. The EFB and WX Radar are "accessory" systems like the GPWS, HGS and Terrain Display. They are not indispensable (you can still fly without them), but are definetely useful tools in helping the flight crew to fly safer. As you said, these two subjects have been discussed to death here, but that comparison was just inappropriate, to say the least.

I beg to differ.  His argument was that they should be included because they're in the real plane.  You'll note that my two points are in two entirely different paragraphs.  My note that it's been discussed at length was not tied to my sad attempt to note that things don't need to be included simply because they're in the plane.  Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it's inappropriate or wrong.

It's funny that you include these in the plane but I was talking about the systems of it.

No, it's not funny at all.  Systems, as I pointed out before are things like the hydraulics, and electrical systems.  Neither weather radar nor the EFB are systems.

...and I wasn't arguing for their inclusion.  I was stating that as an attempt at showing you that everything on the real plane does not need to be in the sim.

I agree about not giving dates and think your right, but the statement I have to say makes me lol. Why?

Still on you web site is the vid showing the "NGX coming this summer", nope...it was around 14 months later, you posted the vid and later you said it would be that Christmas.

Feb last year you said the DC 6 would be in our hands very soon? 14 months later....nope

The 777, no release dates but you went into great lengths to explain the NGX was the building block for all your aircraft to come and you expected the 777 to only take around 6 months and implied you could bring the 747v2 within the same time frame.

So 1 1/2 years later and.....nope

So I think it no surprise people asking Q. No "release dates" but ....come on. How about "no release dates or silly hints on them"

I'm happy with my Q400 so I've all but forgot about the 777, but pls don't make out "we never give release dates", come on! Really!

Your products are first class and I love and have all of them, and there done when there done is fine, but its you that comes out with all the "hints" and "dates".

So brave.

Thank you Captain Randazzo for finally giving us a release date.  I've put DDMMMYY on my calendar. Could you be so kind as to give us the release time as well?

Sincerely, I am looking forward to another challenging learning curve as with the NGX and J41.  After having every version of MSFS going back to the original Bruce Artwick creation on the Apple II (with the single exception of FS9), the NGX was the first add-on aircraft I ever purchased.  You pretty much ruined me from enjoying any competitors' airliners by setting such a high standard (although hopefully some will go the extra 1000 nm).  I tried a couple of other products but they were sorely lacking in the depth that has made my PMDG products such a joy to learn and experience.  Although it triggered a spending spree of hardware and add-ons over the last couple of years that I still haven't fessed up to my wife about (she's happier not knowing).

In the meantime, I have plenty of toys to keep me occupied until the T7 is on my hard drive.

Regards,

Larry

I cannot understand why you keep hassling the PMDG team for release dates when you have ngx ,j41,md11 etc to fly with.It takes years of practice to master even one aircraft alone ,and PMDG have produced incredible aircrafts that should keep you occupied for many many months . If you can fly them all masterfully since their release dates then it's an insult to the real pilots, whom have trained painstakingly for many years to reach their goal to fly either one of these aircrafts.I have my hands full learning and always finding something new . Be patient and let PMDG do their job if you want the best . Keep up the good work PMDG !

AMEN! This is one of the most smart and full-of-sense replies I've read in months.

Weather radar, by the very definition of "system," certainly is one; no different than the  examples you cited. Whether or not they are included in the simulation nor its relative importance does not make it less so.
