Hello users,

I'm going to buy the Majestic Dash 8-Q400 and I want to ask you if they're any known problems using the Cessna Saitek Yoke ?

Hello users,

I'm using it with the Dash - no issues at all.

FSX does still hang now though, and has to be 'process killed', which was never the case on my system with v1.005.

Yep, same for me. Installed the patch and now FSX won't close. Annoying.

EDIT: I have actually fixed this issue now.

I simply went to the FSX compatibility tab, and switched to Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode.

I also ticked the run as Admin box. As well of, of course, my usual right click and run as Admin.

Now, issue is fixed. I have also noticed one or two other glitches fixed. For example, Dash used to load with power levers at max, now they are at disc.

Hope this helps you somewhat DC6_Flyer.

One or two issue I didn't have before, like a bounce and crash, and sound playing prior to loading aircraft.

DC-6 have you tried reloading your plane after the 3d render engine has started? Alt-A-A? Steve

Sorry I missed this earlier @FleetingThought - I'll certainlly give that a try

This sounds like an easy fix! ... will definitely try this Martin, thanks.

To be honest, since re-installing, the only outstanding issues I now have with the Q400 (prior to trying out Steve and Martin's suggestions above), are

- FSX will not close, and needs to be "process killed" after using the Q400.

- Aircraft 'bouncing' occasionally. (I can solve it at load, using FSX 'Slew' but it has happened on landing a couple of times, which did ruin the fun!

@ Mods:    If possible could you rename the title of this thread to "Version 1.006 Win 7 - new problems" ?     (Better reflects the discussion).

FSX is always slow on the uptake though, so you have to be patient and wait a few seconds for it to respond the to the shut down.

Right clicking and attempting to shut down might screw it up.

Wilco.

Cheers Martin.

Thank you very much. I can't wait to have my first flight with it next week.

Nice one Martin, I did a re-install of FSX from scratch and used your suggestions.....perfect, so far so good, still get the bouncing, but I just reload the airport and all's well. And I'm back to running in DX9, until I have finished tweaking at least.

You will be happy to know that the patch to make all addon airports compatible with DX10 is close to release.

Great news.

Hope it works for other too.

Issue I do have though, both prior to the service pack and since, is no ILS on some airports.

No ILS at LOWI and yesterday nothing at a Norwegian airport.

Yesterday on approach, I retuned the ILS frequency and the ILS appeared very briefly, and then in a split second vanished again.

I do get the feeling this patch broke more than it fixed! I will be shelving the Dash until the next update at least.

Just a thought, but I noticed that the default settings were changed when I ran the patch. I had to run the configurator and set it up properly. Refresh rate was not right, set way too low, same with a few other settings. So check your configuration program and make sure the settings are correct for your setup. If you run unlimited frames set accordingly, etc.

The huge leap into the air was solved for me by setting and saving the default flight on the ground, as opposed to airborne as per the original default.

Do you use the Saitek throttle quadrant with it too?

As you will but it fixed everything it claimed to and broke nothing at all for me .

Most of the problems lie not in the aircraft but in the way its users have set up their copy

of FSX.

See Neil Burgess' solution above, for example.
