May 8, 201313 yr The size of the display and button layout is basically it. The larger display of the 530 allows more information to be displayed, so there are more data display options available on a couple of the screens and it just makes some tasks easier to accomplish. Functionally, they're the same. I have both and absolutely prefer having the 530 in a panel when possible - or even better, both so that I can display two different screens at the same time. In many of my planes featuring the 530 I'll never even bother using the popup as the in-panel version is large and readable enough for most tasks. The 430 typically requires more popup use. The 430 is often deemed more versatile, however, as it fits in more panels. Scott
May 8, 201313 yr The 530 displays distance and radial when you tune a VOR. (It functions as the identification, the morse code for the station). I guess it has TAWS too... With aural warnings but mine are turned off. Also on the first map page the 530 shows The CDI with the moving map. The 430 doesn't show both at the same time. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
