October 8, 200421 yr I bought FS9 a few days ago (was about time, I know) and I am migrating my fleet from FS2002. I am downloading new panels and other things that I need for FS9 and found that I am having problems with some freeware panels that keep my FPS below 15 at almost all times. I would consider that understandable if it wasn't because one of the first ACs that I installed was the PMDG 738-9, and I get FR above 20 all the time. There are some freeware that are working well, but I am having a hard time with others. For example Hector Molina's A-340 panel has a bad performance, but there are other cases in which the FS2002 version is almost the same and didn't affect performance at all in FS2002, but in FS9 they are killers. I got Lonny Payne's 757 and FR are at 12/14, which I don't get why, because when I use the 757 VC my FR go to 27/29 (???). Then I tried Schummacher's 757 with the same result.Anyone knows if there's a way to solve this?As I said I don't find any sense in that payware models and panels which are supposed to be really demanding have way better performance than some freeware. Thanks,Leo

October 8, 200421 yr Yeah something isn't right. I don't know all of those, but Lonny Paynes 757 panel is one of the better performing panels out there. It has no hit at all that I can tell. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
October 8, 200421 yr Hey, thanks for that great link. I switched Lonny Payne's to the IFDG767 and FR was 22/25 on the ground, then I installed a 767-400 panel (that looks very similar to a 757) and FR went to 22/25 too.I hope that by changing settings as explained in that post I get better FR for the A-340.Leo
October 8, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member I think performance with panel gauges probably has a lot to do with how good and efficient the programmer behind them is, rather than the comparative complexity. I've seen first person games with crappy engines (Battlefield Vietnam for example) run far worse than much better looking games like Far Cry or the new Counter-Strike that came out yesterday.
