Thanks for your recommendations, Jim and Paul. I'll look into this immediately.Right now I'm using FS Metar 1.5.4, a program which operates fairly well - except for the numerous vertical lines, or "poles", I've been flying past on recent flights. This last issue might, of course, be a video-card thing, but I have used the freeware version of FS Metar for some time without experiencing such disturbances.Thanks again!

personally i like FSMetar, it is free and integrates flawlessly with FS2002 and FS9 via FSUIPC, i have it set up to auto start with FS and i get real world weather all the time without any of the problems you mention. All i have done to ease the load on my PC (i have all cloud and weather options on max) is convert all my cloud textures to DTX3.

I find that using my pc in the garden provides the best real weather experience!:D Seriously though, I'm using ActiveSky and am happy with it.

Fs9 static download...best of all it's free and it's pretty accurate if you don't fly for more than an hour or two. Plus it doesn't kill your framrates. Together with FSUIPC which eliminates the sudden wind changes and altimeter changes it's a winner. :)-Mikkel

Simmers,Just bought AS2004. Had some others, but AS2004 beats everything. And, important, no significant FPS hits. AS2004 is the best, no doubt.

I think ActiveSky2004 is one of the best addons you can buy for FS9. It is clearly the Gold Standard for weather programs.
