Windows XP

so... we're starting to get into some pretty cool tech with our planes but, some of these cool items may or may not (not being more likely) work in Windows XP.  So... I guess what I'm looking for here is how many of you are still using XP...

I'm still using Windows XP, but I know the handwriting is on the wall.  XP will ultimately go the way of Windows 98SE.  I think Windows 7 is a worthy successor to Windows XP.  I have Vista on my laptop and it just seems to be so slow, but 7 has a solid reputation.

I'm still on Xp64. No reason to change right now, if it ain't broke don't fix it, lol.

 

Having said that, I'm ready to switch to W7 at any time, I just need a reason, any reason will do.

Those still on the most common 32-bit XP are mostly likely already in some difficulties these days due to memory and video card issues.  And Jay, I'm sure you'd agree that XP64 was always a pretty rare bird.

 

If the choice is between supporting an old platform (that's no longer supported by MS itself) and being able to add significant new features - seems an easy choice.

Well if XP is restricting addition of new features or better implementation - then there is so argument. I think the majority of simmers (speculating) are already on Win7.

I agree XP64 was never a mainstream OS. It works for me, and is fully supported by MS, at least for the time being.

True, if there was any restriction, or any improvements forthcoming, I'm going with the flow. Yes, I also agree that the majority are already on W7 or W8.

I am just getting back into MSFS. I use XP, but that was because my other choice was Vista and FSX was more stable on XP. I will probably migrate to a new machine and Windows 7.

Windows XP Professional SP2 32-Bit is what I am using for FSX.
