Now we've got support for more detailed mesh with FS9.1, what are the products, payware and freeware that take advantage of this. I have UK VFR terrain and there is a definite improvement with this. It would be good to have a list of other meshes.John

As a mesh developer, I certainly welcome the patch and the return to the quality of mesh rendering we enjoyed in FS2002.But there are some issues (trade-offs) you should be aware of with respect to "19M" mesh.The value 19M refers to the final mesh resolution when the mesh is created using an LOD of 11 (19.6m, actually).Source data is typically either 10m or 30m, so constructing mesh with an LOD of 11 means we either lose information available in 10m source data (under-sampling), or create a lot of extra data points that were not present in the source data (over-sampling). Neither is desireable.In addition, LOD determines the radius under the aircraft where the mesh is used. LOD11 mesh is only used within a radius of about 12 miles, while LOD10 (38.2m) mesh extends out about 27 miles (about 5 times the total area of LOD11 mesh). Beyond these limits, lower resolution mesh is used (default or addon, if available).(LOD12/9.6m mesh has a radius of only about 8 miles!)Consequently, there is no more reason to create LOD11 mesh now than there was for FS2002.
