FSPassengers question?

Recommended Posts

Is it compatible with Radar Contact 4? Or is it supposed to be a kind of replacement? I don't entirely understand.

FSPassengers does nothing in the realm of Air Traffic Control. As for your first question, I can't help you there :P

IMHO FSCaptain is a far better way to go.

+1 for FSCaptain ...

I was willy nilly making an impromptu go-around and as I lined up for final I heard someone in the back puking their guts out...

Laughed so hard I crashed anyway... :-)

If say the engines fail in FS passengers, does it cut off the engines that fail or do you just have to pretend that the engine failed and can do whatever you want?

It depends on the coding of the particular aircraft:

- default aircraft (or "SDK aircraft") get their engines cut off by the FSP failure generator.

- if the engine is externally coded/custom-coded you'll have to follow the FSP message and cut off your engine yourself.

Take note that FSPassengers is an old addon that isn't supported/developed anymore. You might be way better of getting something else, like FSCaptain. Or wait for REX SimAir.

the problem with FSCaptain .. doesn't that make you install a guauge in each aircraft?  and won't this screw up with planes like the majestic dash 8 and pmdg 737ngx and 777?

has anyone made sure that it works for this?

Yes you have to install the gauge on whatever plane you plan to use FSCaptain with, no it won't screw up anything. It even backs up the panel.cfg of every aircraft you install it into, thus if it somehow managed to mess up something (which I highly doubt) it's easy for you to go back to the original panel.cfg.

FSCaptain currently works fairly well with the Majestic Q400 and PMDG NGX.

Dutch hasn't yet picked up a PMDG 777 because currently he's making progress with the gauge-less version of the ACARS.  I've made two very short flight using it this week m'self, and it's coming along nicely.  Doing this has forced him to re-work the entire audio system, so there should be improvements there as well.

Not in the... umm... quality of your FO, just in the ability to control it.   ^_^

FSCaptain will be interfaced with the PMDG 777 soon enough though.  I'm making tweaks with the AXE, the TOE, and the Q400 currently.
