Thank you so much... it's the first step to new osm sceneries. Thanks to Benny and Daikan and alpilotx for supporting me! :)

Looking good PilotBalu.

Will you be including New Zealand with the Australia Pack or separate ?

Trevor Golding

That is one package Australia-Oceania as osm data isn't excellent there, you have to work on it! ;)

the density and accuracy of the new european forests is just stunning!

using the photoscenery i realized that in my german flight area EVERY little forrest is perfectly represented. even as landmarks in vfr traffic pattern everything fits. wow!!!

never seen something like that! not sure how it looks in other european areas but this is a complete new level!!!

congrats to balu and team, concerning forrests x-plane is done!!!

Just one further confirmation - we only need the new forests if with do not have the OSM Continent sets, correct?

They're meant to be used with the default XPX scenery, I believe (?)

Guys, from the other franchise, get ready to move to the FUTURE!!!! What are you still doing there

Jose, I may take a look at XPX when it finally gets a proper Ai and ATC system.

It is starting to look quite good so far though, although the water still looks a bit strange to me

NO is the first answer, in future OSM sceneries, the new forests will be included. As I don't want to change the readme and upload again after publishing new osm, I added, "if OSM scenery is younger than June 2013, it isn't needed". So if you have the actual Osm Europe, it is needed if you like to have exact forests. BTW uncompressed size has grown from 340 MB latest version to now 532 MB.

You can use it with other Osm sceneries or you can use it with standard scenery, no matter as it is independent, just copy and adjust the order in scenery_packs.ini

Ah! Ok PilotBalu, now I understood!

Thx!

I would like to know what you think, how the water should look like . Could you post a screenshot or a photo?

My sceneries (excerpt): LPMA Madeira (XPFR), LGSR Santorini, LRBV Brasov, the city of Fürth (Germany), several libraries, ...

Thank you for your work PilotBalu, this last package is only forest or inclded osm+autogen? I'm a bit confused....

Last, if I want to unistall it, is it sufficient to delete the folder or I must delete opensceneryX?

Not sure why but the Europe forest ate most of my trees!

It is above osm Europe in my scenery ini.

Disabled it and they all came back, most peculiar.

@deetee: it really depends WHERE you use them! They replace all the default trees (which are derived from quite good landclass data - but are simplified to not blow up the size of Global Scenery) but then it depends on the OSM forest data of a give region, how much forests you get (how detaile, or if at all)! So, please check in OSM, how much forest info is available for the region you are checking out .... if there are a lot (or more) forests than you can see in X-Plane with this add-on, then there is a possible error. Otherwise ... well ... where there is no data, there is nothing to render.

I also decided against this addon because of large parts of bare terrain where there were forests before. It may actually be because there are no forests there in RL but ingame the ground textures are wooded so although it might not e strictly accurate, it looks better with trees there.
