Ive also had problems with the photoscenery files not uncompressing, they were the Cardiff and Bristol Sceneries!

I've uploaded again, checked file size, should be okay now.

I've made a gallery with screenshots of the new osm sceneries and the new facade set, you can see it here:

Excellent! Thank you very much :)

Have to confess I'm still a bit confused by how this whole OSM thing works. I tried the new packages but noticed that a lot of vegetation is missing in the new ones. For example Orcas Island has almost no trees at all in the new package, whereas the previous North America package had plenty. Also Google Earth confirms there should be trees there.

I thought the new packages would have the most accurate data?

The new osm sceneries have latest osm data - I've never spoken of most accurate data! ;)

If there is no forest in OSM, there will be no forest in your scenery. There are 3 ways to get your forests back:

  1. Create your forests in OSM, and the next update will containe these forests
  2. delete the 'exclude_for' in the tiles where you want to see autogen forests, by WED, OE or dsfTool and text editor
  3. delete the .dsf tiles (will delete all osm relevant scenery)

is there a way u can make a package or something with installer that it just installs rather than us fiddiling around with it. i would pay for it

If you consider that X-Plane 10  runs on three different plattforms this would clearly break the boundaries of such a project. The few companies that use installers either run into trouble if some plattform makes some changes, or even limit the number of plattforms that it has to support.

Instead most companies use a standard compression format and the buyer has to the rest. If you consider that this installer would also has to guess where in ini file it has to enter itself it gets even more unlikely.

Well, it's not too difficult, it's just like installing any other scenery: decompress and move, run XP10 and adjust the .ini, it's written in the readme and FAQs at simheaven.com.

It the problem is the order than an installer is difficult to make, it has to know which scenery is local, regional or global and to differentiate between library, add-ons, osm, airport and photo sceneries.

Thanks for this, I am trying it today.  At first I tried to download from New Zealand but the download was far too slow so I stopped it.

I tried downloading from a machine I rent that is based in sweden and a 2 gig file came across in 20 seconds.   Nice as I am able to download from that machine to New Zealand at full speed so I can give them a go now :)

Thanks. I appreciate you're not responsible for who inputs what into OSM. To my eyes at least many areas seems to have more data in the March packages so I think I'll keep using them for the time being.

One more question - will your new European facades work with the old March package?

And once again of course, thanks for all your work. I'm having a great time flying slowly over Europe at the moment, my next hop should take me over the Pyrennes, and your packages are making it a very immersive trip!

Ahhh, now I know what you mean, you're right, in March edition there was no exclusion for forests set for osm+autogen version. That's my mistake and I think it's better to allow autogen forests in those continents where OSM data is poor.

So I do step 2 in my post and change the exclude_for to a comment, so one could easily change them back and autogen forests will be shown! :) I will upload those continents again today. Thank you for this hint!

Yes, you can use the old facade set in the new version and vice versa. That is for Europe and the rest of continents.

Ok, it's done! :) All continent files were updated.

Just tried the NA set - all trees where they should be and a few extra buildings! Thanks ever so much Mr Balau!

That's wonderful!!! So enjoy the sceneries! :)

Happy landings from Balu (ooooeeeeeoooooooooooooooooooooooooo...)

My rendering settings are set to High in World Detail Distance, Extreme in Number of Objects and Texture Resolution is set to Very High.

Using SimHeaven North America and flying over the Statue of Liberty should I expect to see the statue?

At this point I do not see it, the island is there but no statue.

Flying over Central Park, I do not see the ball fields as shown in the SimHeaven gallery of that area.

No real big deal but would like to use those items as a indication of the item working/installed correctly.

Thanks for a great piece of work,

Chuck
