AOTD for 6/20/13 - Iditarod 13 N. - Ruby

Recommended Posts

I've been to Ruby several times in my travels so I'm hoping finding this one won't be too much of a problem.

It also looks like we will have these Iditarod caches for a while longer too.

Thanks to whoever decided to do this.

Enjoy.

Thank you.

Rick

Did anyone else notice about 15 miles west of Ruby there is a 5 mile long section of the river that is all trees between the shorelines?

Cool, I was able to pick up both Cripple and Ruby in one trip.

Finally. Nice and gentle, just like the man said. B)

I like this place, peaceful sylvan airport.

I also like the Cub, hard to crash on gear up landings.

I flew direct in the cc, so I did not come up the Yukon River. After I collected the AOTD, I took off and flew over to the river and this is what I saw.

That's the infamous "Yukon Waterfall".  You should submit it as an AOTD.

Thank you.

Ooh! I like that one. Roller coaster ride. Where is it, please? Not off the Map, by any chance?

Over the falls in an Icon.

Best regards.

Somewhere toward the SE edge of the Alaska map.  I don't think I saved a flight -- think I just found it by trial and error when looking for the edge of the scenery.
