PMDG is a nightmare!

Recommended Posts

Hallo

I havent even started PMDG 747-400 and I already starting to hate it (

I purched the PMDG 747 Queen of the skies both the FS2004 and FSX version.

I am experiencing issues with both

- On FSX it is asking for FSX Sp one to be installed and I have FSX Deluxe Adition. As far as I am concerned, this is the only version of FSX that there is

-On FS2004 if I load the cold and dark or switch of the baterry and leave it for a while, and start apu and switch on the battery, the screens doesn't go on.

Please help me with these as I payed allot for your products

Sounds like you only have the original FSX Deluxe RTM version installed, since then MS/ACES released 2 service packs. You need minimum SP1 for the PMDG 744X. You can get them here. I recommend installing SP1, then SP2. Note: these are for FSX English version only, if you need a different language version you'll have to get it from another source.

Another common problem you may run into with the 744X is navigation trackng problems. This is usuly caused by a bad path in the FSX registry. It will show itself by S-turns in LNAV mode. If you experience this, you can fix it by running the Flight1 Registry repair tool. You can get that here.

If you're asking for help, it's generally best to be nice, and not flame people or the developer in the process.  From your description, it seems that the problem is more with your own computer than it is with anyone else.  I feel like I should track how many times I click on a link with some accusatory title and it turns out that the problem is the user.  In the future, it might be best to be a little more diplomatic when asking for help, if only to not come across as foolish when the issue isn't with the nightmarish developer, rather with your own computer/procedure.

Anyway:

Your first issue is that patch management is not in your list of life courses.  It's a common problem today (which is why that annoying Windows Update thing came about - people don't often pay attention to updates), so that's understandable.  FSX SP1 can be downloaded here (5th down):

Your second issue, as noted above, seems to be a matter of procedure.  There are a few Type Rating Courses in the Downloads section of the PMDG website (I'd link to it, but I can't get to it on my work computer).  These, along with the documentation that came with the aircraft will help you get on the right track.

"Please help me, even though PMDG is a nightmare and I already started to hate the 744" ... Kyle, your diplomacy is amazing!
