Error: Can't load

Recommended Posts

Hi,

after a few thousand hours in the NGX I'm recently running into problems.

Sometimes when flying my NGX I'm getting a message saying "Error: Can't load". I can simply pull this message over to my other screen and then the sim will continue running, but the scenery will no longer load.

The strange thing is that this only appears with the NGX, but never with any other of my aircraft (I do indeed have a few thousand hours more on other types, expecially the A320).

My system is the following:

Intel I5 760@3.4GHz

nVidia GTX460

8GB RAM

Win7 x64

FSX Gold edition

All NGX variants, FS2Crew Emergency NGX

Tooooooo many other addons to list them all

In my FSX.cfg I did only use Bojotes tweaking tool and have the HIGHMEMFIX=1 added. No other tweaks included.

Does anyone have any ideas why this happens and how I can prevent it?

Help is much apprechiated

Regards

Emi

Can you post a screenshot?

No I can't. I'm not able to recreate this situation that quick because it only happens now and then...

The Error looks like this though: It's only a tiny (maybe 5x2cm by default) window which only tells exactly this: "Error: Can't load" and then it only has the "Ok" button on it. Also no option to minimise or maximise on the upper right corner, but only the one to close it. Nothing more. No window title, just nothing.

If I either click the OK or the close button it also closes FSX immediatly (As it would if I took the tast manager and just shut down the .exe itself).

ok got a screenshot now because it happened again today. The strange thing is that this time the message popped up in German (well I am German, that might be a reason for it being in the language my windows is set up in).

This time the error looks a little different, but I think it still in the same error.
Here you go with the screenshot:

Freely translated into english the message says "File could not be read".

No idea at all, Emanuel, just guessing:

- your VB runtimes are up-to-date? (of course, they are, in your case!)

- FSX registry entry o.k./fixed?

- would a NGX reinstall hurt? (any user-defined model configs?)

While this is exactly my problem they didn't find a solution too.

The strange thing is that this only happens with my NGX though it is an error affecting the scenery and not the aircraft which continues to fly normally.

Does it happen on a particular route?

If yes, then remove and add the scenery again in FSX scenery manager.

(not the actually files themselves).

AES help is not giving any errors. And yes, different places over the world. Germany, Portugal, France and so on...
