Freezes after switching view

I'm having a problem where if I switch views say to spot view then when I go back into the cockpit the displays, gauges and buttons are frozen, the yoke is the only thing that doesn't freeze. The only way I'm able to unfreeze is by going into 2d then back to VC. Any idea whats causing this? Also when switching views using S it just switches back and fourth between spot and cockpit, if I want to see the other views then I have to use Shift+S, only seems to happen though once I'm airborne.

I don't remember what causes this, other than I know it happens to me when there are no towers in range for tower view. The best way I have found to fix it is to cycle through views using the "a" key.
