Ultimate Traffic 2 (FSX)

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I have recently installed the demo and see that lots of aircraft types are not included - eg, B747, B777, A340, A380 etc.....

I am assuming that this is because the demo is a 'taster' - but can anyone please let me know the full list of the aircraft included in the full version - no need to list the airlines!!

Also - for example, I notice that the A321 included in the demo is only the CFM engine version - again does the full version include full engine variations of each different aircraft?

As always - thanks for your time with this.

Cheers

Jont

When I had the demo installed all of the AI traffic would dissappear when I accessed the drop down menu. I would have to wait a few minutes for it to repopulate. Does this happen with the current paid version?

As far as I know it shouldn't happen anymore with the full version, at least I don't remember it ever happening to me. Can't test right now as I'm far away from home atm.

Mostly I use menus just on approach to look for some runway info and such so I could be wrong too...

I demo'd Ultimate Traffic 2 a few years ago and bought MyTrafficX instead because of this issue. I was curious if it was ever corrected. Looks like it is still an issue for some.

I read this in a review of UT2, that if you access a menu, like the map in FSX (so not just opening the menu, but click an option that gives you a new window/screen like the map or flightplanner) that all traffic disappears. Haven't checked this myself (im a fairly new user of UT2)

Any chance the aircraft types can be listed please and whether or not there are engine variations?

Cheers

It's not a bug or an issue. It's how they designed it to inject traffic. They don't use the normal .bgl system. It externally injects AI.

Traffic will disappear if you go into a menu. It normally takes 2-5 seconds to repopulate on my system.

This isn't something they'll ever "fix" per say.

If it's a bug or not is a theoretical issue and not really relevant I believe, although I understand your reasoning.

It could be it indeed was a sensible choice in the design, but it can be an issue to a customer. Just as much as if it was a bug in the code that slipped through because of too little testing.

Sometimes there is a 'bug' in the design or in the code, sometimes people's expectations change, sometimes you have to make a choice to stay within budget and sometimes you reach the limits of current systems. To the user it's all the same if he thinks something doesn't work quite perfect!

Will the same AI planes regenerate in those 2-5 seconds by the way, so that a plane on approach returns to the same location?

Or do you mean that the traffic engine in general start working again?

Thanks for the clarification Mark. It was a few years ago when i tried the demo and it was on a much slower computer. It probably didn't take more than 30 seconds but seemed like forever. I also vaguely recall that when the traffic did repopulate the AI traffic was different and at different terminal gates. Do you experience this?

Engine types for the AI? You aren't going to get anything special thats for sure!

About the aircraft types. Theres quite alot, the A380 don't look too good though!

IMO UT2 has really nice detailed models and HQ textures, but there are many bugs that need to be fixed, such as the overwater bug where aircraft disappear.

If someone has UT2 - any chance that you can list the included aircraft?

I can't check that right now as I'm far away from home, however remember that with UT2 you can easily assign any freeware AI models and repaints to any airline, thus really you can use any AI models ever made with UT2.
