End of an Era

Recommended Posts

Late last month FedEx retired one of it's Old faithful Tri-Jet Workhorses,The Boeing 727-200F..At One Time,FedEx was The Largest Operator of The 727 WorldWide.Living 7 miles away from Chicago's KORD I used to see the 727 occasionally  around the Holiday's when the Carrier was very Busy.I'll miss her Beautiful lines and gentle swept wing.

You certainly did an excellent job commemorating the B727 through this image set!

The 727 is a beautiful aircraft, for anyone who never got to fly on one, you missed a treat.

Great shots!

Too bad there isn't a great 727 for FSX.  I have the Capt Sim version but the A/P will not work properly unless you have Acceleration installed....plus it need a ton of mods to make it work properly.  Wonder why Dreamfleet did not update their classic from FS9 to FSX?

Great Shots. I love this plane. I saw private 727 a few weeks ago out of NY as I was going to work  and was surprised at how loud it was!

I've fueled many of the FedEx 727s.  I love those planes.  We usually get A300s but they'd send a 727 as a 'sweeper' to pick up anything that wouldn't fit on the Airbuses.  One of my all time favorite planes.  Nice shots!

I was lucky enough to ride on a few of the trijets the 727,Dc10,and the l1011 which is pretty lucky since I'm only 23 and most of these planes were on their way out by the time I was 10

Brings back many pleasant FS memories of my favorite 727 livery :)  A Fedex 727 was the first aircraft I fired up after installing a 3d video card waaaay back in the fs day. Plus many night runs in subsequent years and fs versions. Beautiful tribute to a beautiful aircraft.

Regards,

Mark

Great post! A 3-holer for fsx would be awesome for sure.
