Lost my clickable areas when I reset zoom?

Recommended Posts

Hi Stephen, this is a bit of a strange one. I imported the cam set from your website for the Airbus. It installed and worked fine, I added a couple more cams, left, right etc, no problem. Then in my main view i.e. Captains cam I adjusted the zoom and now I can no longer use the clickable areas! Any ideas? It's driving me nuts, all the other views are fine.

Are you just loosing focus on the main window. If the window has focus then Opus cannot interfere with the mouse click spits. We do not interact with the mouse at all. Sounds to me that the aircraft sim cannot handle the change in zoom level. My advise would be to revert back to the default zoom level and adjust the eye point only, not the zoom which the aircraft sim does not seem to like. It could be it is unable to detect the change in zoom level so all the click spots are wrong. Stick to the standard zoom on this aircraft, that's all you can do, then perhaps alter the zoom after displaying the view. If you do it in FSX then that might be registered by the sim.

My guess is though you will have to just leave the zoom at default for the sim to recognise its hot spots. Once more though, the Opus software does not interface with or interact with the mouse at all. It only uses the SimConnect interface so it is the zoom level that your aircraft sim does not like. Nothing you can do about that but just accept it. Nothing I can do in software, I'm not the one using hot spots.

I have heard of this problem before when you move your seat in too close, have you perhaps done this?

Cheryl

Note, FSX does not provide a way for external program's to read the current zoom level so I should imagine such things can easily interfere with sims using hot spots, although they are not external. If your aircraft doesn't like it then just use the default zoom level. Can't see there's much you can do other than that.

Yep, that worked, but the really weird thing is I have set overhead, throttles etc to the same as the Captains zoom (1.0) was and I still have all the click spots! Thanks for the quick reply Stephen, much appreciated.

Its always best if you can use the default zooms for all cockpit views and just rely on adjusting the eye position alone. This is the most efficient setup since changing the zoom level in FSX is a slow process, without zoom changes your views will also transition better. In the above case the aircraft sim seems to just have an issue with recognising hot spots on the main VC display, perhaps they're all very small click spots there, who knows. Glad you have it sorted anyhow.
