A problem with the ILS at Aerosoft ENVA (Trondheim) airport scenery

Forgot to mention that I'm well aware of the PMDG setting in the FMC where you can choose if the G/S should be allowed to be captured before the LOC is and since I always try to be as close as possible to real world OPS of LN-RRH I have this disabled. Quite scary when you think about it and what could happen if you have it enabled and G/S becomes the active mode before the LOC is captured and there's high terrain between you and the runway from your current position...CFIT...

I can also add for anyone interested that I had the opportunity some time ago to speak to some of the real drivers of LN-RRH and asked them lots of questions about the customizable system options and what was installed and not in the real LN-RRH so just let me know if you want to know about any specific setting and how that is in the real aircraft.

Even more so in Norway.  I think the ENVA chart for the 9 side even mentions something about that: G/S unusable more than 5 degrees on either side of the LOC, specifically for the terrain...or something like that.

And you didn't waste anyone's time.  If someone Googles the same issue, they'll get brought here, receive some knowledge, and be able to fix the issue they thought they were having.

What you say about Google is actually very true when I think of all those times I found solutions to problems by using Google so let's hope then this thread will come in handy for anyone running into the same problem I did.

Have followed this discussion with interest, and can only add what others states here: It`s not wasting anyones time - it`s interesting reading and makes things clear for many of us interested in aviation and NGX flying.

And great that so many simmers here share their knowlegde - great community.

A bit to the side, but I ask WebMaximus anyway: Are you satisfied with the ENVA scenery overall? It`s my "homebase" (I live 40 kms away from it), and are thinking of purchasing the Aerosofts ENVA Scenery.

I fully agree, this is one great community to be part of and thinking about how much I learned throughout the years is pretty amazing and I'm very thankful for that!

As for the Aerosoft Trondheim scenery to be honest I haven't really looked that much into it yet since I got this problem which I've been focusing on but considering the quite low price tag I would definitely get it if it was my homebase.

It's a quite small airport and from what I've seen of it so far I haven't really noticed anything particulary fancy about it but it seems to reflect the real airport pretty well as far as I can tell. As an example I have a cockpit DVD where they visit Trondheim and park at gate/stand 33 so that was the one I picked when I flew there in FSX and comparing to what I saw in the cockpit DVD it looked very much the same looking at how the terminal and jetways (I'm using AES) and so on are modelled.

Maybe the best thing would be trying to find a Youtube video featuring the airport if available or if not have a look at the screenshots. If there's anything special you would like me to check out in the scenery just let me know. I might also try to make a nice YouTube myself eventually, have just started to learn how to make FSX recordings.
