We replace the Scenery\World\Texture folder with our own textures (which are the same size as FSX default at 1024x1024), then add many more unique textures using unlocked classes for more variety.

 

With the textures being the same size as the FSX default, I can't see why the 4GB will represent any limitation.

Be great if ORBX would release this for XPlane 64.  That they have hinted/said they aren't I hope means P3D is going 64 bit at least at some point.  Flight Simulator I think is one of the most enduring pieces of entertainment software ever, so for a new simulator to come out exploiting multicore, multithreading, beau coup memory & GPU is truly a long-term no brainer for the right product.  Built well the team that thought this through well could count on a very long time of patronage, made so by an engine w/ robust SDK's designed to spawn 3rd party support.  Right now we're stuck w/ the old engine and applying lipstick (FTXG) on the pig w/ no further development of the engine (hope I'm wrong, P3D...) or XPlane whose dev team is a bit small to really do it full justice, though their heart is in the right place it appears as they try to make the engine more robust.
