Building FSX PC

Hi guys, 

Im thinking of bulding new PC for FSX. For a reasonabe money good performance. Any ideas what should I buy or maybe could you post your PC with little details how ut runs FSX? Would help me a lot.

GTX 760 or HD7950 (with Bojote's shader mod)

256GB Samsung 840 SSD for FSX, or OS & FSX

1 or 2TB HDD for mass storage

So you guys recommend Intel instead of AMD? Iwas considering also AMD Phenom II 965.

It has been generally accepted for quite a while now that intel processors are superior to AMD ones for running FSX.

 

Get the fastest one that you can afford - add Win 7/64 & you've got a good platform to work with for FSX.

I have a Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz (OC 3.9 GHz). I think it runs acceptable in default FSX (maybe exception big cities). But if you throw in things like weather complex addon planes like NGX 737 or ORBX scenery traffic moving cars it's clearly to much for my PC. I would say this CPU is not quiet up the task of running FSX.

The Intel i5 is a good choice as it is cheaper than the i7 since it has hyperthreading disabled, and the K's overclock nicely...FSX does not use HT so why bother paying for it and, if you plan to o/c, you would want HT disabled anyhow to keep CPU heat down.

I'd look into some faster RAM

Unless he is going to overclock it over 1600MHz it is pretty worthless...
