Broken FSX Installation - Need a spot of help...

In my haste to get stuff done quickly, I've managed to 'break' part of my installation AND my FSX backup!!!!!  Yeh yeh I know, stupid.

 

I've managed to loose a few of the default FSX aircraft.

 

Question...?  If I run an FSX repair, will it reinstall my aircraft WITHOUT stuffing the rest of my customised installation?

 

Any help much appreciated

I think it will yes, it'll look for files that aren't there that should be and put them there.

 

Maybe someone else can confirm but I'm pretty sure you'll be ok

It's a BIG installation, but I guess I can backup 'again' first, before I try it.

The repair utility from FSX will return all FSX files to the default installation.

I might try a separate FSX install to another location, REbackup the relevent folders, then remove it.

If you're only missing a few aircraft that may be the best idea. I am not sure what two installs on one comp will do though, my guess is that you may get a registry error.

Yeh. I'll try installing to my old laptop.  It won't even need to be run or activated of course.  I can just backup the the default aircraft then remove it.  Probably take a couple of hours to install on there though.  What a plonker;-)
