Only snag was when I tried to boot off the SSD drive, Windows 7 immediately kept taking me to an Activation screen. Eh? What gives?

Are you booting off a different drive to the original installation? If so, could be Windows has checked the drive ID and decided it's a fresh installation, not a re-installation?

Just a thought...

Hi Eugene

Yes, I was trying to boot the Windows 7 Pro OS on the SSD from a different drive. But it was an exact image of the original Windows 7 Pro OS set-up on the C:\hard drive. So, I'd have thought Windows should see that as an OS that had not altered.

Yes, agree with that, else no one would be able to clone a drive to a bigger one if they needed more space.

A bit of a puzzle...

Eugene
