October 26, 200421 yr I installed this great program last night and spent the night adding several objects to my home airport. However, I discovered that my Windows XP Home now boots to the blue Welcome Screen where I have to select a User even though I'm the only one. Before this, it always booted straight to the desktop. After searching microsoft.com I found that this in a known issue after installing Microsoft's .NET Framework 1.1 which is part of the Object Placer install. Here's the info:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;827072If it bugs you as much as it did me, the fix is an easy edit of the Registry.I love the Object Placer program, though, it's exactly what I've been looking for. October 27, 200421 yr Thanks!!! I also noticed new behavior and thought it might be due to the .NET install. Microsoft have an awful record in my books of taking liberties with my system whenever I install any of their products :-(Agree that the Object Placer is a darn nice program, though. I had this capability many years ago with Mallard's Scenery Designer for FS3 or such and still have pictures of my street with all the houses..This one does not do roads, but everything else seems to work quite nicely. October 27, 200421 yr A recent security update for *.NET Framework seem to remove this problem from my daughters/wife's computer. As the computer administrator, I usually deleted the ASPNET account from the Control Panel, User Accounts menu vice messing in the registry.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert

As the>computer administrator, I usually deleted the ASPNET account>from the Control Panel, User Accounts menu vice messing in the>registry.>>W. SieffertThanks for this tip....it is the simplest remedy of all!! I had run into this problem before when using EditVoice, since it too, needs the NET Framework program. The solution I used after that experience was to uninstall NET Framework once my project was finished!I had no idea that another account(ASPNET) had actually been created, which explains the extra option upon re-boot of the computer. As a previous writer mentioned above, MS needs to be taken to task yet once again for unwarranted interference and invasiveness with the individual user's registry.
October 31, 200421 yr Thanks for the info Jim, that fixed it for me! I appreciate the heads up on this.KP
