Specific weather with REX?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently playing around with the REX Essential Plus package. I like it, but have one question. The weather options in it seem to have all kinds of settings - except the ability to set a specific type of weather! Let's say I want a thunder storm. There is no such setting in REX - is this because I should do this in FSX itself? If so, will the textures, clouds etc. still be courtesy of REX?

REX has "Random Weather Themes" that lets you set the season and severity of the weather. Then click Generate until you like what you see and fly with that weather. If you needed something more specific (perhaps a particular wind direction or visibility at your destination) you would need to go through the FSX weather dialogs and set it that way. It's also possible to load a static copy of weather (either real-world or a weather theme), and then customize the weather further using the FSX weather dialogs. Just make sure you don't re-inject weather after you customized it so you don't lose your settings.

Once you have injected REX textures they will be used regardless of how you set up your weather.

Or  you can go in rexe weather settings  and click search weather  and in the drop down box click what  you want  and it  will list  all the airports of the  weather you have selected
