You need a utility called AirEd available here at AVSIM. Use that utility to open the offending AI aircraft Air file. Look for a section labeled "*Aircraft type=n. If that number reads 1 the aircraft will appear in the selection menu. Change the number to 2 by clicking on the words "*Aircraft type=n" a box around the number will appear edit the number and hit enter, then save. You are done and can move on to the next AI.

You can right click on the Air file and go to open with and browse to AirEd to set the association so all you will have to do thereafter is click on the AirEd file - saves time.

Mel

Hi, alcanallen,

Yes, you can use an air file editor (file in each aircraft folder ending in .air) to change the parameter "aircraft type = 0" to "aircraft type = 2".  Either aired or Aircraft Airfile Manager should work.

...also "FS Aircraft Typer"

I use it because it allows batching.

My mistake: "Look for a section labeled "*Aircraft type=n. If that number reads 1 the aircraft will appear in the selection menu." If that number reads 1 should have read, If that number reads 0 as Mike stated.

My apologies.

Regards,

Mel

Thanks Joe. What is really embarrassing is that the 1 is at the 'other' end of the keyboard from the 0, . . . . I must have been typing with my arms crossed again.
