July 28, 201312 yr Yawn. I'll get P3D when it moves to 64 bit. I'll also buy from developers who support it. The market moves commerce. Not lawyering!
July 28, 201312 yr What about EULAs?Just click "I Accept" and you'll be golden! i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
July 28, 201312 yr What about EULAs?It's all about enforcement. Sometimes a contract, rule or a law is written with no mechanism to enforce it. In some cases a rule/law is made to confirm a previous agreement/treaty with another party. Aviation and real life have many examples of the above. In this particular case what's the method of enforcement; or at least verification. Absolutely nothing!
July 28, 201312 yr Ah, I see, just a useless set of words. No honesty or sense of to do the right thing. Too bad.
July 28, 201312 yr Ah, I see, just a useless set of words. No honesty or sense of to do the right thing. Too bad.Precisely. If they're not willing to enforce it, why make a big deal out of it? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
July 28, 201312 yr Entertainment is The pleasure afforded by being entertained; amusement: The comedian performed for our entertainment. I do not sit and watch FSX that would be boring, I use it to learn new things. Learning is studying. The fact it amuses me to do so is a by product of learning as is a commercial pilot who may learn something new each day and enjoys his/her job. The fact they enjoy it does not mean they are being entertained by their job or maybe they are! It's a fine line this entertainment thingy. Just saying.
July 28, 201312 yr Precisely. If they're not willing to enforce it, why make a big deal out of it? Ah, so it's like music downloads or any other agreement, it's OK until you get caught or someone stops you. So doing something wrong trumps following something right. And we do know the difference between Training, Educational, and Development vs. Entertainment software usage is.

July 28, 201312 yr Gee some people here sure do care what other people do with their time! Would anybody like to come over and watch me use P3D and pester about their interpretation of the EULA?

July 28, 201312 yr Gee some people here sure do care what other people do with their time! Would anybody like to come over and watch me use P3D and pester about their interpretation of the EULA? Some people sure do care about those of us who want to obey the EULA! Mike Mann
July 28, 201312 yr Some people sure do care about those of us who want to obey the EULA! Well if you would like to come to my home and enforce your interpretation of Lockheed's EULA for me, please do so. Would you also like to come discard the fireworks I buy in other states because my state won't allow it? Or come check that I don't jaywalk tomorrow when I go to work? Ensure that I don't buy a beer on Sundays? Seriously it's not hurting you or anyone else here. So far Lockheed hasn't shown a care for what happens in my home, why do you?
July 28, 201312 yr Oh, this thread has also turned to P3D EULA discussion. I'm not actually surprised, though. This has to be some Avsim phenomenom going on as I haven't seen this kind of heated discussion about one frickin software on any other simulator forum. I mean, not one that goes on and on in different threads considering some "future FSX". What is the point here? This is very simple: those who don't comply/are strict about EULA: Fine, point has been made kazillion times. Those who are Pro Prepar3D and using it for any reason: let it be, enjoy what you have. End of discussion. Why on earth this same stuff pops up every time, when future of flight sims is brought in and every discussion turns out to some EULA b***s*** that brings nothing to the table. Give it a rest guys, all of you. You use some platform, fine: you have your reasons and you are right. Big deal what others do. Insted, focus on what strengths these softwares have and what should be developed and thus give some guidelines to the possible devs of those platforms that are (or will be) under some work no matter what the use is. This EULA b***s*** doesn't bring the hobby single step forward. Jeez, this community can be annoying at times...
July 28, 201312 yr Jeez, this community can be annoying at times... This growing worldwide "fun police" phenomenon is certainly annoying. More important things in this world to worry about.
