July 24, 201312 yr I would say something simple to test the waters, so maybe the beech or the jetstream. The thing that will get me to move to XP would be the 777 and the 747 boy oh boy they'll be amazing with a more modern sim engine Alaister Kay
July 24, 201312 yr No idea what it will be but when it happen it will be the end of fsx era and the great migration to xplane. Steve
July 24, 201312 yr Well I want it to be the 737NGX... But I really would guess something simple to... Beech/Jetstream... Part of the reason I've starting FSX a while ago... Switch back and forth so it's still fun! - - Tommy - -
July 25, 201312 yr DC-6 or JS41 probably. I'm thinking DC-6 although I don't think X-Plane models props well? JComm?
July 25, 201312 yr Author I'm thinking DC-6 although I don't think X-Plane models props well? True LeeL, but this guys ( PMDG ) do miracles! Any of their masterpieces is a miracle in FSX :-) They model way beyond what the default platform was designed for, so, one never knows what they'll be able in X-Plane10 ;-) And, after all the only big problem with X-Plane10 regarding prop aircraft has to do with the overdone roll due to torque effects. Other than that the default prop model (recip, injected, turbo...) is overall better than FSX's. The turbine ( free-running, for instance ) is also limited, but even so more concise than the one in FSX / P3D. July 25, 201312 yr No idea what it will be but when it happen it will be the end of fsx era and the great migration to xplane. Totally agree, I'll move to XPX only if PMDG will realease NGX, MD11 or 777 or 747 for this sim. In my opinion only PMDG can catalyze the market and influence a migration to XP, I hope it happens soon. July 25, 201312 yr FSX's days are numbered once PMDG start working on making/export the NGX and T7 to XPlane10 Lionel
July 25, 201312 yr FSX's days are numbered once PMDG start working on making/export the NGX and T7 to XPlane10 I wouldn't be to sure there. Keep in mind that most simmers would have to start from 0 regarding addons in X-Plane. It's the same with FS9. There are even almost no new addons produced and people still do not want to switch over to FSX simply because they have so many other addons for this sim. I for example have invested thousands of €s in FSX addons and I could use mabe 10% of them in X-Plane. So I simply wouldn't switch over because I would have to buy almost everything again which I payed for for FSX already. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
July 25, 201312 yr Author One of the biggest advantages of X-Plane10 ( at least for me ) was that I can get World scenery of high quality, including great OSM-based + autogen, photo-secenery, etc... ( not the default that comes with the Global edition, although it is also being updated from release to release... ) for free!!! I never had such a good-looking scenery for Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula in FSX because 1) I didn't want to spend so much money in scenery and 2) my pc wouldn't run it properly... So... I do believe that once PMDG starts selling add-ons for X-Plane10, the migration rate will definitely increase. Robert actually made, IMO, the biggest contribution to the future of that simulator with his kind and honest words at his AVSIM talk recently... July 25, 201312 yr I switched to Xplane last year after having spent hundreds if not thousands (including PC upgrades) of £s in getting FSX to run. It worked well and gave me 30fps but with numerous CTD's, OOMs and it was never stutter free. I don't have any of that with xplane i have a steady 50/70 fps depending on situation. We have 64bit capability, we have a T7 comparbale to any of the PMDG aircraft I have owned and whatever money I am spending on xplane is only what I would have spent on the ailing FSX platform. In fact at present in the past year I have spent less money on Xplane than I would have spent in a year with FSX and there are literally thousands of high quality freeware airports available for Xplane. I have myself become a 3rd party freeware developer and created several airports. We dont really need to wait for PMDG when we have Ramzzezs (T7) and Jardesign group (a320neo) making aircraft. The superb 737 from xEADT is the best flight model of a 737 I have ever flown and a freeware 3dvc is being made for that as I type. Even the default Cessna is a visual treat and better than any default aircraft in FSX. This is not hyperbole this is fact albeit from my pespective. All that said I think the reason there is a delay over the T7 by PMDG is that they want to do a simultaneous release onto FSX and Xplane. It makes sense from a business perspective. As has been noted there are a lot of people out there who still fly FSX and will continue to do so, so it makes sense to release onto both platforms. It's what I would do if I was in Mr Randazzo's shoes, and As we all know he has stated that his team are working very closely with laminar to understand the laminar/Xplane software environment. July 25, 201312 yr My guess: the B744 - Queen of the Skies :-) j.c.monteiro u could be right, xp10 doesn't have a 747 Payware yet! PMDG will release a payware that will make them money or has made them lots of money in FSX.

July 25, 201312 yr I wouldn't be to sure there. with the release this week of the OOM Infested "Drzewiecki Design New York City X" I think we need to really think about the future of 64bit Sims. I'm sorry but I love FSX also and I think it's time to stop feeding it NEW scenery that it can't run :( Totally agree, I'll move to XPX only if PMDG will realease NGX, MD11 or 777 or 747 for this sim. In my opinion only PMDG can catalyze the market and influence a migration to XP, I hope it happens soon. it will be 1 of those(upgraded to 64bit, HDR LIGHTING, etc.) I really don't think they will release something new.
