What will be the first PMDG add-on for X-Plane10?

One things for sure though, if it really is the NGX they will become rich men and women! The NGX is probably the most sought  after aircraft!

But... but.... are there women at PMDG???? Unbelievable!

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

PMDG = Perfect Men Developing Games

PMDG said that they are working with Austin and his team on figuring out how to port all or most of their FSX Payware to XP10.

The superb 737 from xEADT is the best flight model of a 737 I have ever flown and a freeware 3dvc is being made for that as I type.

Can you provide a link to this bird and its VC?

Do you mean x737? It has not still VC.

One thing XPX must solve is how to handle scenery layers. FSDreamteam has comment on that some time ago. If they do, byebye fsx

All that said I think the reason there is a delay over the T7 by PMDG is that they want to do a simultaneous release onto FSX and Xplane. It makes sense from a business perspective. As has been noted there are a lot of people out there who still fly FSX and will continue to do so, so it makes sense to release onto both platforms. It's what I would do if I was in Mr Randazzo's shoes, and As we all know he has stated that his team are working very closely with laminar to understand the laminar/Xplane software environment.

Mmmmh.....this will be wonderful but maybe unreal. Sure, I'll buy immediatle PMDG 777 XPX version, but will not buy that for FSX, I already own NGX and MD11 and invest money again on an archaic and bugged simutor has no sense, imho.

Do you really noted that we run FSX with clocked cpu and with expensive hardware just to get running it smoother and with decent fps? FSXis a 2005 project and with modern and actual hardware it suffer again, it's seriously bugged and most cpu bonded.

Try XPX demo and with you hardware you will see your PC takeoff, non only the plane on XPX :-) this is due to modern software conception on XPX, with OpenGL library and 64bit software. Nowaday a simulator has to be 64 bit and benefit from gpu, not only cpu! And XPX do that! Seriuosly!

Recently I changed my GTX 275 with GTX 670, no one enhance in FSX, but in XPX it's another sim with that gpu, totally new! When a piece of software is well written and optimized for modern hardware you can see immediatly the difference, believe me!

So, I hope and trust in PMDG that seriously take into account to develop for XPX, I think many and many simmers are waiting for this moment. Addons for XPX will follow after PMDG will move to XP, I'm sure!

I get terrible performance with XP and texture flickering but I must be doing something wrong.

I think you did something wrong for sure, with your PC you can't have any problem.

Yeah that's what I figured

I switched to Xplane last year after having spent hundreds if not thousands (including PC upgrades) of £s in getting FSX to run. It worked well and gave me 30fps but with numerous CTD's, OOMs and it was never stutter free. I don't have any of that with xplane i have a steady 50/70 fps depending on situation.

We have 64bit capability, we have a T7 comparbale to any of the PMDG aircraft I have owned and whatever money I am spending on xplane is only what I would have spent on the ailing FSX platform.

In fact at present in the past year I have spent less money on Xplane than I would have spent in a year with FSX and there are literally thousands of high quality freeware airports available for Xplane. I have myself become a 3rd party freeware developer and created several airports. We dont really need to wait for PMDG when we have Ramzzezs (T7) and Jardesign  group (a320neo) making aircraft. The superb 737 from xEADT is the best flight model of a 737 I have ever flown and a freeware 3dvc is being made for that as I type. Even the default Cessna is a visual treat and better than any default aircraft in FSX. This is not hyperbole this is fact albeit from my pespective.

Simulataneous release? Ha! not yet we're still in for a wait... the NGX SP2, 747 2.0, 747-8 DC6 ,777 ER packages and NGX ER packages have yet to be made

hahaha

Yeah that's what I figured

XPX has its own share of problems and for now the quality level feels like FS9. Ramzees 3D modelling is terrible, the A320 neo is poor but IMO the best addon for Xplane yet is the FlyJsim 727. The rest is well... Crap

Howver when PMDG starting shaking things with Xplane it will get better but for now its fsx. No doubt no question

Ricardo, if you take note of what I wrote I was very clear about which aircraft I was talking about and the status of the VC. The VC is being developed EADT have stated it will remain freeware along with the full aircraft which is the x737

Have you listened to Robert Randazzo's keynote address when he discusses Laminar and the work his team are involved in with them. You should give it a listen. Some of his comments around the thinking behind Microsofts failed Flight experiment are enlightening.

There is no doubt, at least for me, that the future in terms of flight simulation (non military) lays in X-Plane10. The upcoming p3dv2 is still unknown in terms of what it will really offer, apart from the DX11 support, which of course is very good news, but I fear they'll divert more and more towards the professional market...

And yes, the words Robert spoke in his keynote address pretty much support the idea that there is strong hope in the future of this platform - X-Plane!

Is it perfect, or even ultra-realistic as advertised? Nonsense - it isn't!

But... does it have a chance of getting better and better under the continuous support of the talented LR Team, and the various 3pds progressively joining it, plus those that have long been developing excellent add-ons for it?

It certainly has! That's why I believe in X-Plane10, and, much more important, PMDG believes too :-)
