FTX Global + UTX + Mesh

Recommended Posts

I have UTX + GEX + Mesh.

If i understand it correctly, FTX Global replaces GEX.

But i heard that FTX Global works best with landclass, and i thought that GEX and Global WAS landclass?

So I'm a bit confused now...

Will FTX Global work with UTX? What do i need to disable other than lightning?

Does FTX Global replace roads and the like?

Sorry for another FTX Global thread, but i didn't want to hijack one.

If someone could post some shots around EKAH, i would be happy :-)

Thanks.

GEX and FTX Global are only textures. Landclass tells the sim where the textures should appear. UTX is amongst other noticable things such as accurate coastlines and road networks (vector data), a landclass product. Scenerytech, Cloud9 XClass and such like are landclass addons.

When you buy an FTX Region such as PNW, SAK etc then you get the whole package in one - textures, elevation mesh, landclass and vector data. The downside of course is that the regions are a much smaller area than a 'global' product.

UTX Europe already provides full land classification for Denmark. If you want to try a different land classification for the area there are instructions in the UTX manual as to how to do that.

Isn't the UTX landclass mainly focused on getting urban area's right? From what I have understood the rest of the landclass isn't too good... Landclass is just a small part of what UTX offers: you would expect a specific landclass product to offer better landclass. I suppose it's not without reason that quite often specific landclass is adviced to be placed below UTX urban landclass and above UTX vegetation landclass, which tells me UTX landclass is mainly for urban. I certainly wouldn't call UTX landclass 'full'.

If I remember correctly, unlike the North America versions, UTX Europe contained full landclass data, in other words, not just urban landclass.

No clash at all.

FTX Global is a Texture Replacement addon, and Scenerytech is landclass so as the guys just explainesd above, SceneryTech Asia will "tell" FTX Global which textures to display, for any given location.

I certainly wouldn't call UTX landclass 'full'.

Well, since your name isn't in the user's manual, I wouldn't expect you to know (not think) if there was a "full" land classification in the product or not. But since mine is, I can say that Europe includes a full land classification file.

Like most all land classification files, degree of accuracy can be up to an individual's interpretation.
