I built my own computer and upgraded the majority of the parts about 6 months ago. I am using an Intel i5 3570k CPU with Zalman CNPS11X Extreme CPU cooler. I don't know a lot about overclocking but is it recommended for FSX? I am running the majority of North America scenery addons, NGX, etc. I get great FPS now but figured overclocking might up things a bit. Any advice and recommended guides? Thanks for the help.

Check out this video mate, quite good explanation for us OC-newbies.

If you're currently satisfied with FSX performance, NO. Your CPU is built with overclocking in mind. A moderate overclock using your aftermarket cooler seems like a logical step since you already have everything in your rig to do it. My FPS is fine--- except in large airports using PMDG products. My FPS will occasionally dip below 20 in those situations, even with my CPU overclocked to 4.5 Ghz.
